Thanks for the updates! I bit the bullet and bought a new carb from PPL Motor Homes and it cost me $240. Only took 15 minutes to install and the genset runs great.
Well. The solenoid on my carb finally failed on me. I was wondering if I can put an EFI setup on my old Onan Genset (circa 2008) and if so would it be worth it? If not I am going to have to buy the carb kit's that they sell on e-bay. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks, David.

I am selling my queen sized beds that came in the garage of my 2008 cyclone 3795. I have the full set up with the motor, racks, rails and the beds. Please PM me at santafedave if you are in the market for these. Thanks, David.
Well. After changing out the fuel, tapping on the carb, adding seafoam to the system, changing the air filter, oil and spark plugs I finally broke down and changed the fuel pump and filter. Guess what? My Onan 5500 now runs like a champ! Finally I can head back out to the desert and not have...
I just put about 2500 miles on my TH and anderson hitch. I had no problems backing up to my hitch. After a couple of times you get it. I have the system before the funnel which looks awesome by the way! I am going to find out it I can buy just the funnel and see if it adapts to the old one...
Try using Seafoam carb cleaner on your genset and then run a fuel stabilizer also check your altitude adjustment setting on the carb. For a tow hitch I recommend the Anderson hitch system (aluminum one). Works great and it is easy to remove after towing so you can have your truck bed back...
I have a 2008 3795 with the onan genset. I had problems with the genset not starting after 5 tries and throwing error codes. I took my trailer in to the certified onan maintenance facility and they ran diagnostics on it and said that my carb spring had failed. I suffered with this for 3 years...
To add to my earlier post. After rapping the solenoid a couple more times I continued to have problems with the genset. I changed the oil and air filters and used the seafood deep clean on the carb. This worked great. My genset starts with no problems now and doesn't search during loading...
Ok. Just tried this with my 5500 Onan. Wow! I have been having problems with my genset for years! I have changed the oil had service done at a cummins dealer ran seafoam the tank etc... I went out today started the genset rapped on the solenoid and bingo it started running great. I just...
How do you change the bulbs in the recessed lights? Do they unscrew or do you pull the whole light socket out? I am asking because when I tried to remove the light the whole thing turns. I have a 2008 cyclone and the recessed lights are above the bed. Thanks.
Re: Onan 5500
Hello TX. I had the same codes thrown on my 5500. I took it to a Cummins dealer and they inspected and repaired mine. Here was my complaint "Repair for genes codes 14." Correction "weak governor spring" the spring cost me $2.18 and the Labor $256.00. They did check...
Got it fixed. I hooked up shore water to my RV and keep the pressure low and she works now! Sometimes I have problems with my water pump I have to access it and get it to work if I have been on shore water that has a lot of pressure. Anyway I got boiling hot water and a brand new Anode. I...
