Rate this Entry
I went to use toaster this morning and it threw breaker and gfi switch in bath. Also had coffee maker and electric heater running on this same line in kitchen and livig room area thta we have been using for a couple of months and this did not happen. However now neither the gfi switch will trip and reset or the breaker itself will in the control box will not reset. Help!

I do not know how old your GFI is. If it will not reset, consider replacing it. This is more viable than troubleshooting. They are available at any hardware store if your unit is out of warranty. They are not difficult to replace. Yes, do make sure the power is off to circuit before replacing. I'm sure what you mean about breaker in control box. Did you turn this breaker completely to off before resetting it?

RV is 2008 model, but everyone is telling me to first try changing out the GFI outlet in the bathroom first. The breaker in the control box is already off. I could not get it to flip up and stay up at all when this happened.

Unplug the electric heater and coffee pot. reset the GFI and then turn the breaker back on in the control box before you go out and buy one. We have thrown ours a couple of times. Crock Pot, Heater, Microwave all at same time. Easy to overload.

Well I ended up calling the Heartland dealer I bought this bh model 3670rl from. The reason the breakers would not go back up was because the lid(cover) over the breaker box was keeping the breaker from going back up. You can only open the lid half way up and then this will allow the breaker to go back up all the way when you flip it. Bad designing. Should have made these covers open and close from the side or something.
