due diligence, 5er homework~

Rate this Entry
We have spent the winter months buried in snow.... when not in Pittsburgh to meet G's needs at Starzl Transplant Institute; we have been buried in over 2' of snow..... Whew, glad this will be the last winter of that! While our efforts to sell the house and locate our new home sweet home on wheels has been on hold due to weather constraints (not too many people are going to climb a snow covered hill to see house when it is windy and 10 degrees out) I have been studying..... I will post some questions in the forum but think I have figured out ALOT about how this complex new home will function.... I have learned that when hooked to "city slicker water" we will need a pressure regulator to protect our plumbing, a Y fitting, and that our internal water pump does not need to use its muscle unless we are running off of our own fresh water supply~ also, have learned that even if we have 50 amp on board, we can utilize a 30 amp campsite - just need an adapter, and will have to adapt our usage to not over pull... one thing I am not sure of is the darn refrige.... so... can that baby run on electric while we are traveling down the road or what? Hence, my question to be posted in the forum... We will have two DC's on board... have also started to get a grip on inverters and how they work... thankfully I already have a battery backup for the laptop... that will come in handy as will the GPS....

by the end of the week, the temps are to be at 40 HEAT WAVE - which means the frozen tundra will soon allow the FOR SALE signs to be planted, and the fun part of our search can take shape... we are planning to visit dealers in Indiana, Michigan and Northern Ohio... however we did find a SWEET 5er in North Carolina....and another one in Florida, and yet another in Texas.... would prefer to buy on this side of the Mississippi, not sure why, but.... tomorrow I will speak to the IRS about taxes and the advantages of having a "mortgage" of sorts on the RV... hmmm - being that we come from farming stock, finding the perfect tow vehicle should not be an issue... sadly, there are many of BIG trucks, late model, loaded for pulling heavy loads on the market due to, well the market... I just looked at super nice F350 diesel, dually crew cab ....only problem, black... uggg.. my last F250 was black, BEAUTIFUL, but man, allot of work....

I am thankful that I can post here and so far, my future Heartland pals have not objected.... there is more to living full time in an RV than living full time in an RV.... there is the path of getting there....the path of life changes..... Maybe one day someone who dreams as I do of taking life to the road, for whatever their reasons, will get encouragement from my words... maybe not... regardless....thnxx Heartland friends for allowing me this pleasure.....

I have been in the real estate business for many years and have exoerienced homes selling 12 months of the year, although the market may be somewhat slower during the winter....they still sell. Other factors are to be considered too, so talk to your realtor.
