  2. 1 year of POI excellence and low clearance avoidance.

One year ago after seeing a horrible bridge collision I decided to investigate low clearance avoidance tools. After a great deal of searching, by far the most cost effective solution was to download a low clearance POI database for my GPS. There were a few free ones out there to download but...

  6. Garmin Nuvi 465t... Sorta Long..

Well I went out and did it.. Got me a new Garmin 465t. I have been using a Garmin Street Pilot 2610. I really liked this GPS. It was not a fancy 3D unit and it did not speak the street names and waypoints. I did not want to change units but Garmin stopped making maps for the 2610. So the 2009...

  7. Using POI's while enroute

I have downloaded some POI's to our c530 Garmin GPS from POI Factory. However, I'm not sure I understand how to make them work. When I have set the GPS to a destination, will I automatically get a signal that we are near one of the POI's, or do I have to go into "Extras", where the POI's are...

  8. Talking Locked NAV GPS while driving

I just purchased an 09 Dodge 3500 Megacab, short box, dually to pull my 3950 Cyclone. The first thing I figure out on the new pickup is most NAV functions are locked while driving. I guess this is true on most cars and other pickups also. I understand why but the wife does that kind of stuff...

  10. LoJack for your Laptop

Here is a link where you can get your laptop registered with LoJack. If it is stolen the police can track it and catch the thief. You can also use it to remotely delete data to protect it. I don't have it yet but am considering it with the amount of laptop thefts. I know Lo Jack work with...

  11. GPS Suggestions with Rear Camera Input ?

I want to get a GPS that I can switch between vehicles if needed that also will double as a rear camera display. A few GPS units, such as Garmin's StreetPilot 7200, has a video input for this purpose. The 7200 looks like it would work, but there appear to be several models to consider. Any...

  13. Thumbs up Garmin nuvi 465T

If you have not seen the new Garmin nüvi that is available, you should go to the Garmin site & check it out. I purchased the 465T a month ago, and it has been great! It runs in two modes - 'car' and 'truck.' In 'car' mode it operates like any other Garmin. You enter where you want to go, and it...
