We spent a month in New Orleans, came home for two months and now, when using the kitchen faucet and toilet the water randomly turns orange.
This is NOT the color of our winterizing solution (that's hot pink.)
Everything was fine in New Orleans and we're using the water straight from the tap...
We were able to get non-$50 seals from a trailer store ($5) although they have no brand marking and the trailer store didn't know the brand. The look and feel identical to the manufacture ones. We re-packed the one wheel we took apart with new grease and one of these new seals (since we tore...
Guy at the trailer parts store explained that the one we bought from Napa was a triple seal, not a single like is currently on the rig. Wish the guy at Napa had known that. Explains my sticker shock. Trailer store seals were $4 each.

We're headed to a trailer store next. I'm keeping the expensive one until I can find a cheaper one. The brand is SKF and I went to see the names others recommended but there are so many random posts on this thread now and I'm on my phone without search capabilities.

Napa wants $50 a seal. Thoughts? We killed a seal (that sounds so wrong) this morning trying to get it out. So we bought one. But four would be $200. I said no!

Am I right to assume that these are the same parts/numbers that would fit our Big Country 3690 (2013) which has Dexter 7k axles? The Big Country, Big Horn and Landmarks share the same frame and axles, right?

I am repacking my bearing on my 2013 big country 3690 and wanted to replace the bearing seals. When visiting an parts store is there a specific part number I should be looking for?
I'm trying to determine how to know what seal to buy. I've searched the forum and see some part numbers listed. But I don't know if those are applicable to my specific rig (Big Country 3690 2013). How can I be sure what seal to get? Is it best to just take the wheel apart and bring the old one in?
I called around to a few places about trying to get it changed on the way out of town but most shops don't seem friendly to that sort of situation. They want me to drop it off and leave it for a few days. That doesn't really work since I travel with cats. :) Given the high price of someone doing...
I called a few mobile RV repair folks to see if I can get it done on-site. One said he could not while another said they could. The one that could quoted a price of $132/hour + $95 on-site fee. He estimated it would take 3 hours. That's close to $500 which seems pretty steep. What should I...
Thanks for everybody's feedback. Sounds like the safest thing is to get it done before leaving here. Andy, I'm currently in Slidell, LA so a recommendation of a good place nearby would be greatly appreciated. Also looking to take I-10 back to GA so anywhere on the MS coast is also close might be...
My wife and I recently came concerned because we have not been doing maintenance on the wheel bearing (packing, greasing, cleaning, etc) since we bought our RV. Our RV has around 7000 miles and is almost three years old. I know I want to get it serviced but I'm trying to determine the urgency...
We did run it on propane. Evidently we had a nest of some sort in there, which we torched. That freaked me out a bit.
We turn the hot water heater off when we're not using it. When we are, we turn the AC off. But honestly, sometimes the only thing running on Line 2 is the AC and that trips the...
