Resolved. The light in question is the 'D/S Security' light and it is just burnt out. My confusion stemmed from the operation of the porch lamp. It seemed that turning the security sw on or off changed the way the light detection and motion sensor of the porch switch worked. Further testing...

Do you mean on the back of the lower kitchen counter directly across from the entrance door? Any markings or text near the switch? I'm referring to outside light between the bedroom window and the front cap. Does any other light come on with this one? Maybe it's a bad bulb. Thanks Bob
