    Baking food in the oven

If you can't find a pizza stone any unglazed tile should work. There was recently a discussion on this topic on a Facebook RV forum.

One year travel trailer warranty a sham for the customer . . . should be at least three years!

John, I have the 2011 BRS28 NT. Before we hauled it 3000 miles both axles, inadequate for the weight of the TT, bent, destroying all four tires when we were over a hundred miles from home. HL only gave us a 12 month warranty on it and we didn't notice the potentially deadly situation until we...

    Choosing an RV

Our NorthTrail has storage space under both beds but it's so hard to reach, taking two people, we only store things there that are more for emergency use than anything else. We have for example, an extra set of sheets and quilts stored under the Queen bed and nothing stored under the bunk bed...

    Cleaning stove top

What an excellent idea. :) I'm going to try this. Or even cheap tinfoil and just toss every few days and replace.

    Newbie Decorating Question

When we sold the Sunline and then the Zinger, we did the same thing. No one commented on seeing a pic hangers on the walls. PS we sold those 2 TTs because they were too small. The 28' NT w/slideout fits us better.

    Cleaning stove top

I also use the products already mentioned. I find anything with Ammonia will remove greasy spatters the best. We seldom fry anything as fried food is so unhealthy. Since I prepare and cook the meals my husband does the clean-up. It's done after each meal before anything really gets to stick...

    Solar landscape lights

Did you pull the small TAB (usually orange or yellow) out of them so contact is made? Some people don't know to do this.

    wallpaper border

I finally dealt with that ugly border. Trying to remove it all without damaging the walls, and then getting the sticky stuff off was more than I wanted to deal with. I bought a nice border slightly higher than the original and glued it OVER the original. You can't tell there's another border...

    Newbie Decorating Question

We have not found anything that keeps pics on the walls permanently. We tried everything people recommended on several RV forums. What finally worked was putting heavy duty Velcro on each corner of the frame PLUS the nail/frame hanger gizmo. What's a tiny nail hole? This takes the weight off...

    Decorating / Mods

I'm hoping someone replies. We would love to get rid of the jack-knife sofa as it's hard and very uncomfortable to sit on through a 2 hour movie. The area where we sit is compressing making the thing look lopsided. We don't need it for a bed as it's only us and the cats. But when we looked...

Thanks, that's good to know. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea using it as we first thought. :(

    Awning won't retract

Doesn't your slide have a manual crank that needs a drill to bring it in? We always carry a cordless drill with us. Both for the stabilizers and in case the motor goes on the slide-out.

    Awning problem... where to ask?

Re: Awningc problem... where to ask? We ordered our BRS28 from a place in FL, but then DH picked it up at a dealer near the HL factory in IN. It saved us a few hundred in delivery costs. If they gave him a walk-through, no one mentioned this about the awning he can remember. But sometimes...

    Awning problem... where to ask?

Re: Awningc problem... where to ask? Thanks Dave, it appears one of us somehow rolled the awning up "backwards." So the IN became the OUT on the switch. But it looks to me like the motor is wearing out in any case. When it rains we have to bring the awning in when we're camping or...

    Awning problem... where to ask?

Re: Awningc problem... where to ask? Fortunately we wont have to do that. Apparently one of us held the IN or OUT button too long and it rolled up backwards as another poster mentioned. I've noticed thought that the motor doesn't run as smooth or as fast as when it was new.

    Awning problem... where to ask?

Re: Awningc problem... where to ask? Thank you for this information. I held the (reversed) "IN" button until the awning ran all the way out, then let it come back in. It seems to be OK now. I'll have to remind my husband to be careful too. :)

    Awning problem... where to ask?

Re: Awningc problem... where to ask? Is there any way to know if my awning is included in this? I haven't heard anything from HL or Dometic.

    Awning problem... where to ask?

I didn't see anything for awnings so will ask here. I hope that's OK. :) There is something wrong with our electric awning. The In and Out switch has reversed itself. :( We now have to press In to extend it and Out to bring it in. What on earth? We can't understand this since...

    Tire/Axle Issue in my 2012 NT 28BRS

This may be so, but Lippert can only install what HL tells them to install - and will pay them for.

    Tire/Axle Issue in my 2012 NT 28BRS

Lippert came through for us. They sent us much heavier axles that made the ones installed by HL looks like toothpicks.

    Tire/Axle Issue in my 2012 NT 28BRS

Re: Tire and axle failure in 2011 BRS28 - HELP!!!!!!!!! Much too light we were told at the repair shop that replaced the Lippert's installed by HL. If the same cheap thin axles had been replaced the man said, they would only bend again. They had a small stack of bent Lipperts laying there...

    Crockpot Recipes

I have to try this one. We're both pork lovers and I love the crockpot because I can leave the food while we go wander off for awhile. It doesn't have to be watched.

    Installed a Backsplash

I love their panels. We used them as a backsplash on the old Class-C we bought last fall. They seem to be made of some kind of plastic that looks like metal so hope they can take the heat from the stove. :)

    Carpet

You would have to use one of those small carpet shampooers. Fortunately our NorthTrail has no carpeting. We didn't want carpeting. :) I use those throw rugs and shake them out every few days. When they need it, they go in the washing machine.

Tire and axle failure in 2011 BRS28 - HELP!!!!!!!!!

Lippert shipped the heavier axles and they were installed by an RV shop not to far from us. We brought the BRS home today on the bad tires as they didn't have the tires my husband wanted. One tire was going FLAT by the time we got home. 15 minutes later it collapsed. Lippert will not...

Tire and axle failure in 2011 BRS28 - HELP!!!!!!!!!

This TT really needs ground clearance. We added the heavy duty dolly wheels and had to add a few hundred dollars worth of gravel to get it in and out of our driveway. The Sunline and Zinger was not a problem where height is concerned. Without the dolly wheels the rear of the NT-BRS TT would be...

New to RVing and getting ready to travel with kitties

We have one of these. 3 or 4 cats fit plus an average size litter-pan. We also bought the extra shelf covers and put a cheap scatter rug on the bottom. Secure it when on the road. We use large strong bungee cords. It's not safe to have cats running loose when moving on down the road. Also, be...

    What Food??

Only Purina Kitten Chow has any quality at all. All the rest of Purina cat foods are loaded with cheap grain fillers. Even the Premium brands contain, if not useless grains, then useless vegetables like beets, potatoes etc. Cats cannot use these foods effectively as they obligate carnivores...

    Traveling with your pets forum

That spray didn't work on our cats either. :( But we do have a large Midwest Cat Playpen cage they travel in. It has three shelves and a litterpan on the bottom. The boy cat has a roomy cage with a small litterpan. I don't give them water until we get where we're going since the wont drink...

Mods we added to our BRS28

We added soap shampoo dispensers in the shower and one of those open U shaped shower rods to give us more room in the shower. Also a hand soap dispenser and towel rack in the toilet part itself. We added a coat hanger with 8 pegs behind the entertainment center wall for jackets and coats and...

    Keeping the dust out?

We close up our TT when on the road. Windows and vent both. No dust gets in that I ever saw. I'm curious as to why some people want fresh air running through their RVs when on the road.

    Underbed Storage

Tire and axle failure in 2011 BRS28 - HELP!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for that information. We wont even try to replace the tires ourselves and do want them balanced if possible so they wear more evenly. We're hoping to have all the work done at one place. We have one more place to call today.... I hope we get the NT back in time to do some camping...

Tire and axle failure in 2011 BRS28 - HELP!!!!!!!!!

Both the TT and the Tow Vehicle are supposed to be level when towing. That's pretty well known. The TT should not be nose up or nose down when being towed. The tow vehicle (TV) should not be squatting. Yes, but the damage to the tires are all the same. Yes, we know that. This is our 3rd TT...
