Bonnie and I were so looking forward to our first rally, guess you can figure what follows.
I'm privileged to serve on a counsel of home inspectors. I get to represent fellow Inspectors for the Four Corners states, Oklahoma and Texas. I will be in Huntsville, Al up to the day before the...
We take that route quite frequently as our son lives in the Phoenix area. 277 is a relatively flat road and if it's snowing there it will probably be snowing in Flagstaff as well. 2 lane until you reach the top of the mogollon rim then it is 4 lane most of the way to Phoenix area.
Down side...
We have stayed in both parks before we moved to the Albuquerque area. Stagecoach would be my choice but mainly because of the off park amenities. There are several fast food restaurants, a Denny's, an I Hop, and some very good New Mexican restaurants. Let me know if you chose that one and I...
I second the welcome and agree that it is not normal nor is it safe. Black smoke indicates incomplete combustion, party to that black smoke is CO. Get it fixed.
This string has posed some questions some of you more seasoned owners may be able to answer.
1 Is there additional decking at the floor of the basement or is it just the Coroplast?
2 If it is just the Coroplast would removing it to make basement modifications like cleaning up the plumbing...
Great choice, cool if you are from the desert floor, nice walking trails, and because it may be your first outing, just a mile and a half from a Walmart.
Two weekends ago we were returning on I-25 from our niece's graduation and got caught in a wind/hail storm. We learned later that the winds exceeded 50 MPH from the drivers side and, the hail was so thick that we couldn't see more than 100 feet. Thank goodness that the hail was soft. Knowing...
We know about the brown, our BC 2500RL fit our needs so well we kind of overlooked the brown but, it did start to wear on us. Our beginning solution was to get rid of those brown covers over the bed and replace with a colorful cover with matching shams. Made a world of difference.
Welcome m455sx, My wife and I are pretty new to 5ers as well and have used the forum to learn. I would recommend that you read links about tires, weight etc. Probably the most important issues we have to deal with. And yes, yours is a long one!

I'm one of those dreamers (I'd like to say inventors but that might be a big stretch) and came up with this idea. To make my tools and safety equipment more accessible I'd mount a support in the center of the basement opening. Mounted to that support is a box that would contain the items...
Follows is a link about a king to queen mattress.

Kind of disagree, 3 turns may save time, it seems to me that it is easier to watch the mirrors in a left turn than a right turn. Not meant to be argumentative just MHO. When I drive my truck, the 5er is back there even if pretend. Want to make that a habit when driving.
We purchased our 2011 3500RL used in November and have taken our time to take care of some basics, not the least of which was new springs and repacking the wheel bearings. But Friday last was our first outing. Not sure of ourselves, we decided to park not far from home and importantly, a...
I do believe you indicated that it is a concrete drive and if so, lining the bottom surface of the block with securely attached rubber like from a discarded tire should provide sufficient grip on the driveway to keep it from sliding. By my calculations, the 12 in block would do quite well. More...
Great idea, thanks. As we are moving from our tent and sleeping bags to the comfort of a king size bed and private facilities, we have moved our portable marine signal horn into the coach. We are pretty sure all the neighbors will hear it!!
Have not replaced them yet but just learned today that I will have to. When I measured between the two axles, the off door side was a full 1/2 inch closer together. I'm sure that that difference will cause additional wear on the tires. Where did you get your new springs?
Thank you all, jacking on the frame was not that bad but carrying around the timbers necessary to be safe will add to the load!
Boy am I glad I did this maintenance. While under the coach, I noticed a bolt without a nut, that bolt is the pivot for the equalizer and it had worked partially out...
Someone please help me here, I need to jack my coach to adjust the brakes. I have read Lip Sheet - 0134 Rev B and it states that we should not jack on the axle. Then I watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ec9oFtMmeBs&list=UUlHXez4Up-PBb4VKKpMD2nQ&index=2&feature=plcp and clearly they are...
The tail pipe, between the sink and the p-trap should not exceed 24", that is to make sure that the fluids are not traveling so fast that momentum carries the water through the trap. An empty trap does not stop sewer gasses from rising into your coach. If your coach plumbing is anything like...
A 1500 Watt heater could draw as much as 12.5 amps of current. The 1100 Watt heater could draw as much as 9.17 amps. I would not run the larger unit attached to a 10 amp circuit.
