Update to my earlier post; The battery cable I used was only 4 ga., and I had it here at the house. I didn't buy it for the size to use it here. I agree, a 6 ga. wire would be just fine. I'm thrifty enough to use things that I already have instead of buying more. Steven

Ninerman; Look at the pics on this thread, and go from there. The small breakers that come on the trailer are covered with red rubber cases. Follow the wire from the slide electrical switch, to the breakers. Disconnect that wire at the breaker, and connect it to the new breaker, on the AUX...

WDK450; I have that same trailer, which is why I followed the rules and got my license. 16,000 GVWR. It does not matter that the trailer and tanks are empty, it's what it's rated at.

Don't forget, even with a full class A license in Ca., there is still a limit on the total length of the combo. If the guy was pulling a large 5er, and a car behind, I would bet he was well over the length limit. I don't know what the limit is off the top of my head, but it's certainly there.

In Ca they don't do air brakes, unless you are going for the full class A driver's license. If you go for the non-commercial, they only do the other stuff, but it's intense.
