Don & I have reservations from Sunday to Sunday and will be in site #122.
The campout is two months away...I'm getting anxious already...probably the nice weather we've had lately is helping :)
Campouts are "informal" in that there isn't an itinerary (which is a rally). Typically we will have a campfire in the evening where those interested will come with chair & beverage. Tall tales are told!! Some are true :)
Don and I will be hosting a campfire on Friday night.
I might even try my...
JoAnn's Fabric/Craft store usually carries only white cord, either by the yard or in prepackaged amounts. If anyone has several shades that need to be "fixed" I would suggest you contact the shade manufacturer for replacement cord to match your color cord.
My shades are made by SWC (Specialty...
Monica and I will be arriving on the 15th and departing on the 19th. I am planning to participate in the Dyess AFB tour, so let me know about the security clearance requirements. After thirty-six years as a contractor to the Air Force and Defense Department, they will probably let me in.
Don Ashby
I have brought my sewing machine to work on small projects.
Don and i would like to come to this...we will be at a "star party" thru the 25th. I'll let you know if we will be coming sometime this week.
It looks like Steve/Susan won't be making it :( I was looking forward to seeing them again & talking about some summer camping.
It seems the weather will be in our favor! It's a good thing since Ronn doesn't want his new clean truck getting splashed on the way down; can't wait to see it :)...
Don and I will be attending the 2017 Sweetheart Rally. We will be arriving the 14th (Tue) and departing the 19th (Sun). I have made reservations with Coffee Creek and registered.
Look forward to seeing everyone :)
Monica
breakfast sounds better the closer we get to Saturday!:)
Don & I are loaded up and tires have been checked...we will be heading out in about 20 minutes...should take us about an hour and a half to get to Mountaindale as long as I-25 isn't clogged!!!!
See everybody soon:cool:
You are correct about needing to be 8' tall to get to the clips!! Our vent also has the two clips on either side...I have my trekking poles in the rv and use one to open & close the little clips (the poles have the rubber ends and work well gripping the clip).
We have known several people who...
I think we are just about ready to leave tomorrow...of course there is always the last minute stuff that will need to be "packed" in the morning.
Glad to see Brian & Jan will also be there :)
Looking forward to this camp-out...it looks like we won't be escaping the heat of the plains but it will...
Gregg & Linda,
Glad to hear you made it home safe!
On this trip we will be testing out the new "air bags" Don put on this past week.
See you next week :)
Just checked availability...weekends are booked if you want hookups of any kind. Weekdays are available.
I also checked fishing updates...many will be starting their spawn time so it should be good for several species:)
We are looking forward to the camp-out.
Two weeks and counting!
Shramahaun,
There has been great info given to you concerning this situation. It's a shame that the dealer/service manager has lead you astray (are they that desperate to sell a rig that they are willing to give you dangerous advice?!).
Safety is paramount.
Howard & Shelley,
Congrats on your new role in the Heartland Community.
Ditto with TravelTiger's comment about Mother's Day weekend...you just never know what the turnout might be when it comes to a popular family holiday. Colorado's spring rallies started after Mother's Day but then that had...
Bernie,
So good to hear you are home.
I know you and Judy are contemplating a good whirl around the dance floor!
Don & I look forward to seeing you both this fall in Vegas.
Monica & Don
Glad we were able to get a site.
I've been contemplating our possible route...Green River State Park can be a via point. Does anyone have any first-hand info concerning this park? I see that the park's RV sites are in the process of being "updated"...there's just not very much info surrounding...
Disc brakes finished, electrical plug for BH put into the new truck's bed, basements all loaded, propane tanks full (it's going to get chilly @ night), fridge turned on and cooling (always a good sign!), new fan put in the living room (original had a snapped blade) & re-glued/re-stapled a piece...
Hope we can bring some of this warmth back with us to BV. It was 85 today!
It was about 78 here at the house today, slight breeze...very nice :)
Hope you are all having a great rally...have fun and safe travels.
See you next week.
Sounds like we need to have some video evidence made! If someone hasn't done it already!
Hmmm...mojitos...sounds like a good plan :)
UPDATE: Don is on cloud nine:the brakes are finished. Thank goodness!!! He can get a bit cranky when things don't go as expected:p
I was checking weather as well....looks good till Friday...of course I'd rather it rain/snow to help keep fire danger low...maybe it'll hold off until we are all snug in our rigs at night!?:D
My fingers and toes are crossed...for you as well as Don & I...he's still working on the new disc...
Since Don and I will be getting in Tuesday the 10th we thought we would have Dutch oven peach cobbler Wednesday evening (weather permitting). So, bring a bowl/spoon, your chair and something to drink over to our site for a campfire dessert and conversation :)
I have no idea the time...
Safe...
Just an FYI...Don and I will be arriving Tuesday May 10th and leaving Monday the 16th...I see it isn't next to our names on the list.
Thank you, Gregg, for adding this info to the attendee list :)
Long range forecast for the rally looks like it will be in the 50's during the day and low 40's at night...perfect weather for night time campfires, breakfast outside with a hot cup of java and "hot toddies" for a fun game of Poker Run!!
I haven't put away my snow shoes
Monica
Hi Heidi 1301,
We have 4 panels on our Bighorn (100W each) and two 6V golf cart batteries. When we pull our slides out and lower the landing gear(after batteries have been charged while driving) there is a substantial drop in the battery capacity (it may not be exactly half...a bit better than...
Hey John,
Even if you had started a fire all the snow today would have helped put it out!! lol
According to the in-house electrical engineer...the long version I heard was essentially "...blah, blah, blah, yakkity smackity..." the short version was it's ok to leave the truck running when...
I don't know John....with the window there maybe there's something in the framing in that area that prevented them from moving the strut in that direction...I'm playing the Devil's Advocate
Monica
A snow shovel is a bit more quiet...we like to sleep in :-/ lol
I just hope the weather has settled down by next weekend...we are heading to the Branson rally.
