Man, all you guys with your low mileage diesel trucks. What's the point when they are $60k plus? 237,000 here and tows our Sundance like a monster. I don't deal with emissions crap either. 170,000 is barely breaking it in as long as it has been maintained well.

With the temps up in that area, it's not even a concern. You can use PS in the white bottle if you are really worried about it, but the winter blend will already be effective enough. Just keep trucking on!

I wouldn't worry about those temps at all. That is normal for these trucks. If you saw that going down the road, I might be concerned, but yes, it's normal. Just drive it and be happy! I wouldn't waste the money on a 6.0 cooler. You won't see too much difference from running what you have now.

My biggest question is does this mean we will not get the fee for "commercial truck" when we register now. Last year that fee was $240 on top of normal registration. It is pretty ridiculous considering my '97 F-350 is no where hear a commercial truck.

I can't believe some of the stuff I have read on here that some of you are buying into. Synthetic oils do not protect better than conventional, PERIOD. Show me one catastrophic failure due to not using synthetic oil. As far as extended drain intervals, it's not a good idea on HEUI fuel systems...

People shutting down their diesels right after coming to a stop is like nails on a chalkboard to me personally. They NEED to idle at least a little after working to allow the turbo to cool down and wind down from 28-30k RPMs. But, do what you want. Mine always idles a good 10 min after towing...
