Thanks. I may try the foil bubble wrap if I need to. Any tips on attaching it?
I did add slide toppers as well. I figured along with keeping leaves and debris off the slides and out of the rig, they would provide shade for the slides as well. Should help the heat load some. I know there is...
Thanks for the reply. I haven't done this yet. Thought I might as well wait to see if too little AC becomes an issue. We seem to be okay up to at least 90 or so. Although the main unit sure is noisy in the living area.
Thanks for the reply. I need to do something similar. No handy cabinets or duct work. 30 amp service, so no point of running it to the service box. I believe my walls are 3 inch thick laminations. Heartland won't even okay putting the unit on the roof, because they didn't prep it they...
Thanks. Some scary stuff there.......
I really think I have a capacity problem though. Although, now I am wondering about roof insulation losses as well......
Even when I just open the air dump to dump all the cooled air into the living area, it is not enough at very high outside temps.
looks good. I am a bit concerned about the electrical integrity of the Marinco inlet and the depth of the plug/wall. I am accoustomed to electrical devices being housed in electrical boxes to help prevent fire if the device overheats. Any comments about the integrity of the device?
Also, do...
Yep, I have seen that brochure. I really think the roof is strong enough. Sure wish the factory would confirm it and it had the wiring....
I will most liely wait a bit to do it. Go through this summer first and see how it goes. Going to Pechanga (Temecula, CA) in July.....
AZ for club...
Sounds like a great place to camp.
I have found what looks like a good price here for a Dometic 13,500 Brisk Air 2 AC unit:
http://www.adventurerv.net/dometic-duo-therm-brisk-air-conditioner-13500-btu-top-unit-p-1339.html
Anyway, I think it is the "2".... Shipping would be around $90 and...
Yours should be simple since it is prepped already. Take the vent out and put in the AC and hook it up.
Is the Greystone a full size/height with 5 inch thick roof? My Sundance is an XLT - light weight mid-profile with 3 inch thick roof. It's interesting yours doesn't do better with the...
The current unit is 15,000. Just seems to be not enough if outside temp is 100+. Even opening the dump vent into the lving area and closing off the bedroom, getting the rig below 80 is a challenge.
I am considering runing some surface mount wire mold across the ceiling, down the wall and throgh, terminating in a power inlet plug on the outside. That way I could run a seperate cord to the 20 amp outlet at the power post and run both at the same time.
I am curious about roof strength...
Has anyone done this yet?
The 285TS has a 30 amp service and is not prepped for a 2nd AC. I was wondering if anyone has taken the plunge to do it themselves.
Sorry for any confusion. The 2 issues are not related. The slope of the floor does not change with the filling of the grey tank.
I level the coach when setting up using a small bubble level. Primarily I try to check the bottom of the freezer compartment. The other side of the trailer...
Hi All,
I took my new 2014 285TS out for a shake down cruise. While trying things out for the weekend, I ended up overfilling the grey tank. As expected it backed up into the shower pan. No big deal, just go out and drain it. Well, by the time I got dressed, the water had dissappeared from...
Thanks for the replies.
The salesman showed me cutout samples of the flooring and roofs of the different units. I think the Sundance had about a 5" laminated roof and the XLT had a 3" roof. Unless I am getting it confused with a higher end model.
I kind of think it's funny calling these...
Hi,
I am cuurently looking at the Sundance 3000MK and the Sundance XLT 285TS, and maybe 245RL, I think I should look at the 277RL but the dealer doesn't have any of those......
I like the concept of the laminated structure of the walls, flooring and ceiling. But apparently the thickness of...
