So we added a dresser in the closet where the washer and dryer would have gone. Anchored to the floor and the back wall. I need to get some straps to keep the drawers closed during transport.
I also added a couple of straps to help keep the lower door open when needed.
If anybody is interested I will bring a Curt RotoFlex Kingpin. I took it off our 2021 Bighorn. It fits the Lippert 1621HD.
I will give you a great deal, just message me or text to 9374093665
I am also bringing a 24" flat screen TV, Mopeka LP Halos and an RVLOck V4...
Getting right into some modifications with our new rig.
While it seems as though I have a lot of room to work in, my poor body just doesn't manipulate like it used to so this installation took me a little over 3 hours.
First off, I was really glad to do this so soon as I found loose screws on...
We need some help here. We have a 2021 Bighorn with the three panel shower door. When we move the panels they screech something terrible. It comes from the wiper on two of the panes. Have any of you had this issue? What did you do to resolve it?
Thanks,
Mark
How many of you have a north-south facing refer?
I am curious if this creates more problems with shifting of the contents because of a possible hard braking situation when you are driving. It seems that most refer position in rv's is east-west and I was looking at a unit with one facing...
I recently checked into a Bighorn at a local dealer. The website said is has $24,000.00 in options. When I emailed to ask what the options were I received an attachment build sheet for this unit. The options are: full body paint and a Dyson vacuum. Holy crap! Really? Full body paint was usually...
So I am finally installing a winch in my barn to help me remove the hitch from the bed of my truck instead of man-handling it. I have always had a table on wheels to put the hitch on and manuver it around in the barn but now it is time for some more help. BTW, I am borrowing this idea from other...
It has been a while since we've seen any Bighorns at local dealers. We now have a dealer close by with (6) Bighorns, most with full body paint. Very nice looking rigs.
I've been looking around at SOB's here and there and the new thing is to move the floor vents for the furnace to the toe kicks of the island or some other piece of cabinetry for a much cleaner look. When will Heartland adopt this?
When it comes time for us to upgrade our fifth wheel we are looking to get something shorter than 40 feet. Heartland doesn't have a lot of choices in the 34-38 foot (higher end) fifth wheels like some other brands out there. We've been long time Heartland owners and most of our loyalty is due to...
So our unit is about 10+ years old. The stairs have been slowly failing, rivets mostly causing the brackets to mis-align and making our steps a little shakier than normal. Well as it turns out I had another set of stairs given to me about 7 years ago by Michael (linuxkidd) that I stored in my...
In the past we are lucky enough to have some mornings where coffee is available and maybe some sweetness too. Could we get some decaf this year?
Thank you,
Mark
Looking at the website for the Big Country, under options there is a "Full body graphics package". What is that and do you have some picture of it?
Thank you,
Mark
Linda and I are excited to be returning to the National Rally in Goshen this year and with that we are trying to update some of the graphics we will be offering. One of the graphics is the state outline with the new HOC logo. We’ve done many of these for other states in the past and look forward...
We are opening up the camper and starting to clean and get ready for the season.
I was trying out the main A/C unit in the camper to see if it was working properly and after a couple of days of running realized it is not cooling as it should so I shut it off and decided to try the bedroom A/C...
We wanted to let everyone know that we are at the rally and ready to cut vinyl. You don't have to wait for the rally to start. Don't be shy, come over to NW419, look for the truck.
Linda and I will be in Kenisee Lake Thousand Trails from 6-24 to 6-29 then we're off to Berlin Ohio from 6-29 to 7-4. Let us know if your in the area and maybe we can get together for dinner or campfire.
We've owned our Landmark Augusta for 8 years now. In 2015, we had to have the off-door side fender skirt replaced because of a blown tire. We also had the door-side fender skirt replaced because of cracking around the screws. Both had to be painted to match the rig. This year I already see major...
I have used Microsoft Mappoint in years past and when I create a route from point "A" to point "B" I could also find campgrounds along the route so if I wanted to stop and stay a night before continuing on my way. I have not figured out how to do this using either Google maps or Mapquest. Does...
Is it just me or is Heartland's website really slow. When I went there to look at Bighorns all it did was churn so I thought I would try another model and it did the same thing. Maybe they're trying to tell me something?
I’ve searched our forum but have not found anything yet. Can some of you out there help me weigh the pros and cons of the residential refers to the RV refers? I’d also like to hear from people who have had both. Do you prefer one over the other? Why?
BTW, we currently have a Dometic...
While looking through some SOB's this past weekend I saw this and thought it was pretty cool how it is turned on a 45 degree angle, this makes it a bit easier to work in. What do the rest of you think?
Why are there so many Bighorns and Big Country's that have the exterior door light offset from the center of the door? I wouldn't accept a unit with this offset so what is the thinking from the engineers or brand managers on this? Thanks
Is there any way that you could make this layout a off doorside stair for the bedroom without making it any longer overall? We like the 3760 layout but it is too long and too heavy. Thoughts?
Thanks,
Mark
In the past Linda and I would add our names to our rally shirts. Others asked about them so we did there’s too. We will once again provide this service for a nominal fee/donation. If you are interested we will have a table in the Heartland Marketplace or you can come to our site #NW419. We...
After a great time at the Indiana Chapter Rally, I get about 40 minutes from home on southbound I75 and "BOOM!" there goes one of my Goodyear G614 tires. As it turns out my bottle jack did not have enough lift to allow me to change the tire so I had to call for service. This event kind of took...
Sorry I do not have any pics right now but I have a crack on the top portion of my AC shroud. Looks like a branch or something fell on it pretty hard. What will happen if I don't fix it? Will water eventually get into the trailer?
I am looking for those of you who might have upgraded to the Level-Up system and no longer use or need your rear electric stabilizers. I am asking this for my brother-in-law who need to replace the stabilizer jacks on his late model Holiday Rambler. Ideally he only needs the manual version of...
