I think 15" rims don't have caps and 16" rims do. I will try a deep well socket and a cheater bar. tmcram, did you destroy the caps when you removed them this way?
I have an 09 sundance 2980rb with 16" wheels. My rims are the solid silver ones. Are my lug nuts covered with caps or is that a lug nut I am looking at? I have tried to pull off the caps with a pair of channel locks and I can't get them to budge. then I try to turn a lug nut with my lug...
another NA dealer is north alabama rv in rainsville. I bought my sundance there after getting several quotes from the wholesalers. I carried the quotes to the owner (Leon) and he came within 500 dollars of my best price. that was close enough considering the price of gas when I purchased last...
those boliy reviews are old. I researched for weeks and read everything I could/ communicated with as many people as possible about boliy before I bought it. they came out around 06 and had a lot of issues. the fourth generation has had these issues fixed and it now seems to be very solid for...
I do have the fourth edition. I have had no problems so far. I can't compare it to a eu3000 but it is louder than a honda 2000i. it is pretty quite in econo mode. If the air conditioner is on I can't easily hear it from inside the trailer but it is running af a pretty fast rpm and slightly...
I just bought the boliy a couple of months ago. I have had no problems with it yet. it will crank my 15k ac, although it sounds a little rough when the compressor cranks. once the ac is going you can add about anything else with no problem. the generator is easy to crank, fairly light and...
have you had your shower on? if so go point the shower head into the outside back corner of the shower. then walk around and open the access hole to the basement and watch for a leak. thats where mine was/is.
hey tmcram,
did you get your shower to stop leaking? we went on our first trip since the last try our dealer had at the leak. we still leak. Oh, well. back to the dealer tomorrow. fortunately I am only 10 miles from him.
I need an electronic thermostat for my 2998. My generator kicks the breaker if the compressor on the air conditioner cycles too fast. electronic thermostats have a three minute safey timer that would allow head pressure in the compressor to equalize and stop this problem. can you guys suggest...
I had the same leak. my dealer worked on it last week and it seems like he got it fixed. the last leak was between the clear glass and the frame of the shower surround.
tmcram,
I will check my slide tomorrow and see if it looks like this. if your seal is not leaking have the dealer check your window in the slide. mine leaked when it was new, the dealer had to recaulk it to get it to stop.
thanks for the reply's. it looks like my leak is in the bottom corner of the shower closest to the outside wall just above the pan. there is a ton of sealant there so I am not sure how water is getting in but thats certainly where the leak is. I am going to haul it back to the dealer on...
I have an 09 2998rb and I have really struggled with the shower leaking into the underbelly. It only happens when the shower is hitting the right hand corner of the shower stall (if you are facing the shower head). I tried to redo the caulking job from the factory without much luck. So i...
I have a sundance with a power awning and there is at least 6" clearance between the door and the awning. It sounds like your awning was installed to low.
I have an 09 2998 and when I measure from the top of the ac to the ground I get 12'4". I know you guys advertise these as under 12'. I have found a place to store my rv but the door is 12' high. I am wondering If I have made an error in measurement. I am measuring the air conditioner and...
In short, no. We have had a couple of issues (leaks, torn window shade...) but all were promply taken care of by our dealer. Our dining room table is a little tight with all 4 of us sitting at it but thats to be expected in a camper. We have had our camper since june also and I think we got a...
Its strange that RV manufactures don't put some kind of safety rail on bunk beds. My son is 5 and I am currently scared to let him sleep on our 2998's top bunk because it looks so easy to roll off of. Has anyone found a mod that works for the top bed? I was going to build a rail but realized...
Campcar,
Your last thread points to what I was trying to test earlier. being new to RV's I don't know alot about the equipment so I didn't know where a voltage monitor was hooked up. your Voltage monitor plugs into an outlet, which uses one leg of the two legs of 120 we were talking about...
when you are connected to 50 amps you have two seperate single phase 120v legs relative to ground. these two legs are 180 degrees out of phase with each other, this is what gives you 240 volts phase to phase in your house. In the camper you do not have the ability to put a breaker across both...
Hey Campcar,
If you would like to get to the bottom of this lets run and experiment. While plugged into a 50 amp service locate the breaker that kills your LR air conditioner. Turn off all the breakers on that side of your box, then see what your voltage meter reads. If it still reads hot I...
Your problem shouldn't be unbalanced phases, I am new to RV's but my understanding is your 50 amp service is wired as two seperate 120 volt legs instead of a 240 system like in your home. It almost sounds like a capacitance issue, if the air conditioner motor uses a run capacitor you could see...
Mine was doing the same thing the other day, when I turned on the switch at the thermostat I heard a click in the ceiling, but nothing else. I then realized that I was not plugged into shore power. Once plugged in everything worked as it should. Apparently the thermostat is 12v?
I was cleaning in my 09 2998rb last night and noticed two cabinet latches on the legs of the sofa in the bunkroom. Was there supposed to be a drawer like the one on our living room sofa under this thing? it seems weird that I have latches (just like the latches on all of the cabinets) and no...
So I looked on the monitor, there are three buttons, one labeled test, one labeled pump, and one labeled heater. I guess the one labeled heater must be on for the water heater to work on gas??
Our 2998 did not have a water heater manual when we purchase it. can anyone explain the basic operation of this thing? On our first outing I ran it off of propane and it worked fine, but when we woke up after the first night we had no hot water. I flipped the electric switch and ran and got...
We had our maiden voyage this weekend. WOW!!! does this beat the old pop up and hybrid campers we used for years!!!!! We stayed at cloudland georgia, just a few miles from home. its a nice campsite with some awsome views.
the camper performed well, my leak turned out to be the outside...
My new sundance came with goodyear marathon load rate E 16" tires. After reading the horror stories on all rv forums about tire blowouts I decided to inspect my tires closley. I noticed that both tires on the door side have an indention in the side wall that runs from the rim to the tread...
We picked up our camper yesterday. It is now sitting in the driveway at home awaiting its maiden voyage this weekend. I found a leak under either the shower or the bedroom sink (a little water leaking in the garage) and the drawer under the couch is stiff, otherwise everything looks and works...
Thanks Jim!!
I pick up my camper tomorrow with plans to try her out this weekend. this will save me much time, I should have the sattelite working in each room by the weekend!!!
there is a new thread on hooking up direct tv in the landmark forum. a guy did a great job of diagraming the factory wiring plus his modifications. I don't know how this matches sundance as I don't have my hands on my unit yet. as soon as I get the camper I will see how they match up.
