    Purchasing Issues

We drove from Mi to Ohio to get ours. We too saved quite a bit. Get the invoice from each dealer you are considering the compare the models line by line. If the wont fax you the invoice or a factory options sheet, move on to another dealer. FYI if you are considering Lakeshore RV they will sent...

    EQ hitch for North Country

We use and Equalizer hitch and it works great. I have no problems backing or turning. Its a lot less work that those chain systems. When camping I just unhook from the trailer and swing the Equalizer arms under the trucks rear bumper.

    North Trail Wide TRAX experience?

I also have the Sundance 310QB with the wide track axles. At 33 ft long, it pulls better with the wide track than my old 26ft tt. We recently have a very smooth ride from Michigan down to Tennessee. No problems with the trailer even through the Smokies.

    Where to camp in Michigan

I second the Oakland County Parks (Groveland Oaks). Sheriff Deputies patrol on horseback. Private lake. Close to Crossroads Village (Miniature Greenfield Village) and Great Lakes Crossing Mall. The Mackinaw City KOA is also very nice.

Will 30 lb propane tanks fight on 31BDSS?

Yes the tanks will fit. But the cover won't. My we bought our 310QBS, we kept the old 30's for the new unit and left the new 20's on the old unit.

    Which truck?

I just love the type of threads.:) SAFETY COMES FIRST!!!!! I have owned both Dodges and Chevy's over the years. IMHO the are both great trucks. The problem you have now is that the both come will ultra short beds. Not really a good idea when pulling. A good rule of thumb is one above what...

    Help Me Please

I would recommend that you check the plumbing connections inside your unit. By reading through the forum, I learned that this was the biggest issue. The connections are hand tightened and some may work loose after transit. It took about 15 mins for me too go through and tighten the connections...

    14,000 Equil-i-zer Hitch for 31QBS

I have a 310QBS too! I have a 310QBS and use the 10k Equalizer hitch. I have never experienced any problems with sway either in the smoky mountains or windy days. This trailer pulls extremely well, even a 65mph. Your equalizer does not need a sway control added. Its designed into the system...

    New Heartland Owners

Always get the trans cooler....$150 now will save you $1500 later. I also own a Yukon XL 5.3L / 3.73 combo. Its a great truck. 120K miles and counting. But with a 7200lb trailer limit, it makes no sense to burn it out when I have a 2500HD which is designed to do the job better.

    New Heartland Owners

My mistake. I intended to say that the axle ratio listed was incorrect. That being said an 80% weight to limit margin what is considered to be safe by the experts. Boating, Trailer Life etc. 80% of 7300 lbs would be around 5840 lbs. Heartland lists the dry weight as 5334 lbs. This does not...

    New Heartland Owners

HI Newbies! According to the www.dodge.com website. Your engine is probably a 3.7L V6, not a V8. Your axle ratio appears to be 3.92. Based on this info, your max trailer is only 3800 lbs. Your trailer almost double that weight loaded. Those numbers are based on a standard cab with 2WD. Download...

How many miles on your Tow Vehicle?

That's what I wanted to hear. Where I come from people took pride in getting the most out of their trucks. Now it seems like people have to trade in every two years because of the NEW and LATEST $500 option.

    Towing with an Excursion

An Excursion is a fine vehicle. You will be just fine pulling that trailer. You are basically driving a 3/4 ton, diesel powered, pickup with a permanent cap. The 7000k lbs you are pulling will be nothing for that truck. You should not need to do any modifications.

How many miles on your Tow Vehicle?

After reading all of the endless forums regarding fuel/gas mileage, I am wondering how many of you have a Tow Vehicle with over 100,000 or 200,000 miles? If so, what make / model?

    How Far did you go?

The best prices I could find were either 150 miles from Detroit,MI to Grand Rapids, MI. Or, 100 miles from Detroit to Findlay, Oh. No other dealer in the Midwest (including Elkhart) could match the prices given. In the end, I drove to Ohio for $70 is fuel and saved about $3000.

    Should I get 4X4 or 4X2?

Get the 4WD My grandfather always preferred vans to pickups. Every time we went to northern Michigan (in the summer) we got stuck. I promised myself I would not buy a truck w/o 4WD. I have had a few w/o 4WD but not many. For what you will be spending on the truck already...it just makes sense...

    soon to be owner

Sundance XLT 310QB I have a new 2008 310QB. Before purchasing, I read all everything I could find about it. The one thing that stands out on the Heartland Forums is the plumbing. Many people advise you to check the plumbing connections to make sure they are tight. The same was true for me. As...

Looking for our 1st TT...Sundance or North Trail?

I was in the same boat two weeks ago. I had decided on the NorthTrail when I stumbled across the Sundance. They are sister models and are very much alike. The big difference is that the Sundance had the kitchen on the slide. The entry door is in back. And there is no wall/entertainment center at...

Chicago RV Show - Heartland 5th Wheels

I too have fifth wheel envy after seeing the Sundance with the kids loft. I was planning to buy the NorthTrail 31QBS too. But I saw its sister unit, the Sundance 310QB. I think there is still an advantage of having the bed space of the pickup for dogs, bikes, or anything else dirty and muddy...

Poll: If in the Market, Would You Buy Another Heartland

I have had my new Sundance 310QB for exactly two weeks!! As apparently with all Heartlands, I had to tighten some of the plumbing connections. One trim panel came off during the 100 mile trip home. Yesterday, I discovered that the grey water waste gate wont open. Also, when I got it home, I...

    Banks and fulltimers?

Same thing here. I am not a full timer but I joined a Credit Union to take advantage of their lower interest rates. I had an approval in five minutes and the check was FedEx'd the next day. The Credit Union even called the RV Dealer to take care of the particulars.

Poll: Overall quality of your Heartland product

New Sundance 310QB Purchase I am a new Sundance 310QB owner (Feb 07,2009). I am in line with most in rating the overall quality a 4. The design, looks, tracking, and weight are great. However the fit and finish are lacking. I had to re-attach a trim panel on the slide and re-align the cabinets...
