We arrived at tall pines today. We started the trip happy that we decided to get disc breaks after we encountered a truck tire all over the road. Those coming after us, our GPS wanted us to turn off of Saxis Road onto Broadwater. If your GPS tells you to do that DON'T! Keep going. The campground...
We have a second one on our Big Country. It's a bit shorter than the one over the door so they both extend the same distance. Our BC has the slide-in-slide. They told us that the bed slide couldn't have a topper, but it came with one. Call Heartland. It can be done.
When we joined the Heartland family, Gus and Debra were chapter leaders. What a great team they were! Then came Eric and Dorothy - also a great team! Now Keith and Carol have taken the reigns. Virginia is fortunate to have such great leadership! Thanks to all. This isn't an easy job.
Dick and I will do shirts if others want them..1 XL and 1 XXL. We did something to day that I never wanted to do. We are now the proud owners of a Ram 3500 Mega Cab Dually. We have our eye on a new Big Country, probably in the fall.
What a great rally! Eric and Dorothy, you sure know how to put on a party! The campground was great; the food was great; the games were great; the food was great; the weather was great; the food was great...
Eric, I wish you hadn't mentioned Dorothy's knuckles. It's my first trip over and under with the trailer and I'm not looking forward to the tunnels. We're bringing a coconut ambrosia salad which also doubles as dessert for the pot luck. We'll have a couple of shrimp balls for the meet-and-greet...
Lots of food talk. Yum!! Dick and I will bring the griddle again for breakfast along with a pound of bacon and maple syrup, both from our favorite New York State smokehouse - Oscar's.
Dick and I would like to help out on breakfast. Can we bring a doz. eggs? How about more sausage? Do you want an electric griddle and/or frying pan? What would be helpful?
What a great idea! I would love to learn how to hook up the 5er to the truck by myself. Dick is an accountant and can't really travel during tax season. I could take the trailer to agility trials when he can't go, but I'm just not comfortable backing up to the hitch without someone to guide me...
Eric and Dorothy - Dick and I would like to congratulate you. We'll miss Deb and Gus, but I can't think of a better pair to fill the void. we're hoping to get back into the rally mode this fall.
Deb Hazel
Unfortunately, Dick and I have to cancel out. We are moving my mom to an assisted living facility in about 3 weeks. We had to pull from GA, but we thought we could make this one. It just isn't happening for us. We'll miss seeing you guys. Hopefully we'll see the light of day by the VA rally.
Dick and I will do our part to make it to 50. We're on site 70, arriving on Thursday and leaving on Sunday. Keep this up, Gus, and we'll need our own park just to have enough spaces.
Re: EVENT: Heartland International Rally: IN, Goshen - 6/15/2011 to 6/19/2011
What a rally! Dick and I had a wonderful time and were very impressed with Jim and the whole Heartland experience. Thanks Heartland and thanks to the volunteers who helped make this happen. We got a lot out of the...
Thanks all for your quick and positive replies. I saw a post about the turning radius on a Ram forum. I asked here because I knew I'd get a good answer from people who actually have the truck and tow with it. I wasn't disappointed! I'll check out the crew cab, but I like the fact that the Mega...
We currently tow our Sundance XLT 287RL with a Tundra Crew Cab which has a large rear seat for our two labs. We're considering a puppy and thinking about what else the future might hold...like a Big Horn or Big Country.
We've looked at the Dodge Mega Cab and it seems to be just what we need. For...
Thanks!
Thanks for your responses.
The trailer has been banished by the neighborhood covenants and has gone to storage for about 3 weeks. :( Fortunately, there's no water in it, so we shouldn't have an ongoing problem while it is in storage.
We'll take it for an overnight close to the...
We just got back from our first trip in our new Sundance XL fifth wheel 287RL. I'd like to thank all of you for the information you have shared on this forum. It helped in our decision to buy Heartland.
We have a few things that we are addressing with the dealer - all relatively minor. There...
