How did you get that appointment made?
I have the same separation when on the hitch. When I called Heartland Customer Service, they said I need to take to an RV Dealer for inspection, which would be at my cost.
Found it. Laying on its side, and both self tap screws, in front of the cross member next to the back shackle mount of the rear axle. Obviously the installer thought using the self tappers as drill bits to enlarge the holes on the sensor was a great idea. The mounting pad isn't exactly mounted...

I removed some of the nails and saw nothing on the back cross member. Got email from Heartland CSR and she said it should be on cross member above the rear axle. Pulled more nails, looked inside with flashlight, and there it was. Laying loose on its side on the coroplast.
So, now deciding...
It's a nail. No threads. I did get one out with a 1/4" socket to loosen, and a screwdriver to pry it put as i turned it. This is going to be a lot of work.
I had found the front control unit/sensor. It's the rear sensor. In my picture, the screws visible is where I can fell a cross member. It's a bit more than 12" behind the rear jacks. I really didn't feel for a cross member forward of that one. I will get up under it tomorrow.
