    RV Hot-Skin electrical shocks

Much has been said about the accuracy of the tripping point of some home breakers, even brand new ones. Stories of 20 amp breakers not tripping until well past 40 amps. This now makes me wonder how accurate these older weather exposed pedestal breakers in many campgrounds are, and whether there...

    Refrigerator not working on LP

Do all other propane appliances work good, or could there be a problem with a regulator? Lite the stove or a burner and see if it will remain on for the same time period. Just a thought.

    Which Air Compressor???

I carry this one; (http://www.harborfreight.com/air-tools/air-compressors/2-hp-4-gallon-115-psi-pancake-compressor-95499.html), as well as a 12V 150psi. Only problem is that Honda 2000W gen. wont start it if I don't have the 120v power. Time to get the second generator! I seem to depend mostly...

    Charleston SC or Mytle Beach

Mike-Oak Plantation (http://www.oakplantationcampground.com/), is a good clean campground to base camp from if you are visiting the Charleston area. Too many speed bumps though. It is a ways from Rt. 95, but if traveling hwy 17 south from the Myrtle Beach area and you don't mind the traffic and...

Camping in a BIG Country :)

We chose the 3500RL because of the room and comfort. I tell the CG that I'm 40 ft. and so far I've been lucky except for a "garage of trees" on Jekyll Is. Ga. Couldn't use the awning. Even the notorious tightness of Fort Wilderness at Disney worked out to my surprise. Access for parking is what...

    2011 F Series Truck Recall

My Dodge dealer told me that they had done a lot of recall inspections on the tie rod issue, and mine was only the second one they had to re-build. I was told the issue was with the clamps or U-bolts in the tie rod-drag link areas. The problem was they could "break" or "come loose", causing a...

Trailer Saver vs Air Safe hitch

aatauses, I too have a Husky and I'm wondering what the stressing was on your overhang that was caused by your hitch. Maybe this is something I need to look into. I have noticed some side to side movement of the cap area that is different than the pin box, or cover, while driving, but I assumed...

    Dodge....Maybe?

I have to agree with GOTTOYS my 08 is avg. 11.5 up and down the east coast this last trip with a combined gross at 23K. I also have 3.73 gears, and the truck, even though it knows the weight is there it handles it without breaking a sweat and hums along around 1700 rpm's around 65mph.. I love it!

    G614 owners

Even my Freestar's have that scrubbed look on the outer edges. They are kept at pressure and have had their share of tight turning lately but seem to be doing good. They catch my eye all the time, thinking something is wrong, but the temps have been good. I'm running heavier than usual, (around...

Has anyone traveled southbound 95 from South Carolina to Florida lately? I'm looking for a construction report, and things to be aware of. Were heading out next week. Thanks.

    Rubber Slide Seal

Pure silicone spray, or Aerospace 303 protectant. I had a problem with my slide seals sticking to the slide and pulling out with the slides. Someone on this forum recommended the silicone and all is well so far. It might bring them back before you have to replace them.

Some get a gold watch when they retire, but this is the surprise I got from my co-workers, a couple of which are in the pic. Shame it won't fit in the truck while we are camping! Designed by myself and a co-worker a long time ago and built by my co-workers to specs. Great guy's!!

    King pin bottom sagging

Mine was replaced under warranty last year due to water also. It turned out to be the horizontal seams leaking . The front cap had been re-caulked earlier, and water still got in. Since replacement and new caulk, all has been well, so far! I also heard that water can get in when towing on rainy...

    J-35 Flash (reprogram)

After I made my post I looked up the J-35. This was a post from the Diesel Truck Resource web site: " EMISSIONS RECALL J35 REPROGRAM ECM – REGENERATION STRATEGY Dear: (Name) Chrysler has determined that some 2007 through 2009 model year Dodge Ram 2500/3500 trucks equipped with a 6.7L diesel...

    J-35 Flash (reprogram)

It sounds as if the J-35 flash is leaning out the mixture somewhat if there are higher engine temps, and better mileage. Any effect on performance? Also they, by leaning the mixture, could be reducing the amount of sooting in the turbo, thus eliminating the "turbo lag" engine fault some...

    Greystone Tire Inflation Pressure Discussion

Shocks doing their job. Most of us with these large fifth wheels have the shocks mounted at such a steep angle by the factory, that they couldn't be working as they should, putting most of the bounce, (and stress) on the tires. Therefore reducing the margin of error on load capacities on the...

GoodYear 16 inch 14 ply tires

JohnDar I'm like you. My Freestars, (build code 4507), stayed at pressure, look good, springs still have shape, and u-bolts have remained tight. Although I can't help but think the rust on the nuts helps. I only have had to pack the bearings due to the lack of lube originally put in. I wonder...

Had the Freestars balanced today, and the DGF and I will have to flip a coin to see who sacrifices what for the weight gain due to all the tire weights added. She say's I'll have to leave some beer at home. I've never seen that much in weights added to tires. By the way , this was the first...

    Avoiding I-4 through Orlando

Remembering how bad traffic can get on I-4 in and around the Orlando area, I am contemplating going further south on I-95 towards Titusville and taking the 528 toll rd. and also using the 417 toll rd. straight into Disney. Toll costs are said to be $7. Has anyone else used this way around...

    Convection oven shock

Just some food for thought, while troubleshooting my converter behind the basement wall I did discover a ground loop that had come loose from the bug on the chassis. RV camping near Charleston SC - preferably on the beach

Unfortunately the closest beach camping as SouthernNights said, is Edisto, or back north towards the Myrtle Beach area. Chevy Diesel Question

Dodge lists the 2010 Cummins turbo 6.7L @ 350HP, 650 ftlbs torque @ 1500rpm. Same as my 2008. No DEF required! I understand that Dodge Chassis Cab Cummins will have the DEF system. Sticky slideout seals

JohnDar that might be it. I haven't thought of that but now that you mention it, the roof is dotted all over with small gray spots that came after this spring. Camper walls are...
