    Southbound Rt.95

Has anyone traveled southbound 95 from South Carolina to Florida lately? I'm looking for a construction report, and things to be aware of. Were heading out next week. Thanks.

Some of us get a gold watch

Some get a gold watch when they retire, but this is the surprise I got from my co-workers, a couple of which are in the pic. Shame it won't fit in the truck while we are camping! Designed by myself and a co-worker a long time ago and built by my co-workers to specs. Great guy's!!

Just how bad do you want to get to the campsite?

My best guess it's just for the adventure. What some Heartland owners will do to reach a campsite. Got to give him an "ataboy" for his tenacity. Bet it was a great weekend! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XAC4s1v8gDU&feature=related

We'll have to flip a coin now.

Had the Freestars balanced today, and the DGF and I will have to flip a coin to see who sacrifices what for the weight gain due to all the tire weights added. She say's I'll have to leave some beer at home. I've never seen that much in weights added to tires. By the way , this was the first...

    Avoiding I-4 through Orlando

Remembering how bad traffic can get on I-4 in and around the Orlando area, I am contemplating going further south on I-95 towards Titusville and taking the 528 toll rd. and also using the 417 toll rd. straight into Disney. Toll costs are said to be $7. Has anyone else used this way around...

    Sticky slideout seals

Have for the last few days been doing the "spring cleaning" thing. Roof clean and treatment, wash and wax. Noticed while on the roof that when I opened the slides the top seals seemed to be stuck to the flanges on the slides. The largest slide even pulled the seal partially out of it's track...

Patience running thin, am I alone on this one?

I decided to place this outside of "brand specific" to see if others have had this problem. My PDI, (Sept. 2009), showed a defective microwave oven, which the dealer removed for replacement. Determined D.O.A. non-repairable. A new one was ordered. I did recieve the replacement last month from...

    Did I do it right?

Just finished the winterization on my BC3500RL. My panel shows 1/3 fresh water for some reason. I drained all fresh water I could, but did not use the pump to empty the system. I have low point drains for hot and cold, so am I to assume they drain ALL the water? Water heater was drained also. I...

    Location of converter/charger on BC3500RL

OK folks, need some help! I have done the stupid! A late night battery install to move the 5er, and I have found out I hooked the battery up backwards. (I remember a spark, but I assumed I had a light on or something). Right now I'm on a 110v 20a shore hookup and all outlets are polled correctly...

Swapping the sofa and the recliners

After experiencing how limited the view of the TV is from the closest recliner, I was wondering if anyone has, or have tried to swap the position of the sofa and the recliners. I guess a tape measure would be in order, but will the slides clear the sofa when closing? Hoping to save my back with...

Big Country going the wrong way!

Caught a SC tagged Big Country "outbound", or North on Hwy. 501 leaving Conway SC. away from Myrtle Beach today. Your going the wrong way if your going to the SC chapter rally at Willow Tree this weekend. Willow Tree is the other way! Tow vehicle was a white Dodge 3500.

    Chucking vs Banging

Yes it's my first fifth wheel, brought it home yesterday, and yes it's empty. I just don't think the loud banging noise is normal. I can best describe the noise as "someone hitting the bed of the truck with a 2x4, or the puckering of a piece of sheet metal under pressure. The Dodge duelly shifts...
