2012 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD Dually Crew Classy Chassis Conversion

Now that we've sold our Bighorn it's time to sell the the tow vehicle. This is a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado Dually Crew Cab LTZ with the 8ft bed and 4WD. I purchased this truck brand new from Lowell Chevrolet in Indiana and had it sent directly over to Classy Chassis to outfit it as a tow...

We sold our Bighorn, now it's time to sell the truck. This is a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado LTZ 4WD crew cab, long bed, dual rear wheels. I bought this truck brand new and had it delivered to Classy Chassis in Indiana where a conversion was done. The truck is stored indoors and only used...

    Build sheets?

It's been a long time since I've posted on here, just been enjoying our 2011 Bighorn and all the quirks of aging (kinda like myself). Anyway, I have yet another referral to the heartland brand and when I came on here to help a friend, I was not able to find the MSRP build sheets for each brand...

    Finding a new dealer

The time has come, we are talking about upgrading to a new unit and my first instinct was to go back to RV Capital Wholesalerers / Great Lakes RV to seek out pricing on a new unit, only to find they have gone out of business. There's a company operating under the same names in Lakeview, OH. I...

A&E 14' Slide Awning Tube Encap Failure

Hi all, My large living room slide on our BH 3670 has a slide topper installed at the factory. What has happened over the last year is that the hole in the endcap, where the pin attached to the support arm goes in, has enlarged, in an oblong manner. It's like the metal used in the endcap was...

    A&E Slide Topper Problem

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it. Do you recall the cost offhand, and, is it a DIY job or something that needs to be done by a pro? I'm handy, but anything with spring tension usually scares me.

    A&E Slide Topper Problem

Over the past few months I have noticed my large living room slideout has been making a click, click, noise when running the slide in or out. Finally today I had a chance to look at it and it appears the slide topper awning is failing. The holes in the roller tube have become enlarged or...

2013 Goshen Rally - Vendor Specials for Rally Attendees

I had the wet bolt kit and the JT stabilizers installed at Lippert's service facility during the 2011 rally. Should have had the Level-Up installed also. Prices have skyrocketed since the 2011 rally on all these things. I think I paid $150 for JT's, $50 for wet bolts, and IIRC the Level Up...

    Adding Big Horn 2nd A/C

    Adding Big Horn 2nd A/C

Sorry, I didn't clarify. I'm intending to do the install myself. I'm young and handy and the sub-100lb weight of the unit shouldn't pose a problem for myself, and maybe my brother if needed. The quote from Heartland was just the parts.

    Adding Big Horn 2nd A/C

Hi all, We were originally going to sell our 2011 BH this year and get something different, but I think we're going to wait another year or two until we see something that really jumps out at us, floorplan-wise, before making the switch. In the mean time, we suffered through a lot of heat last...

    Bighorn Down, 2 G614's gone

What's this, now? I've never heard of a G614 failure before! Glad nobody was hurt and you will be back on the road soon. That's no fun, for sure. My G614's are wearing on the outside edges, both sides, all four tires. Weird. They will certainly wear out there before they dry rot. These...

Getting more AC to the bedroom.....

I modified mine in my BH 3670, in a real simple way. I just plugged the vent line heading from the A/C unit BACK, which forces more air to all the vents in front of the A/C unit, including the bedroom. We keep the bedroom door closed during the day, which gets that room really nice and cold...
