Does anybody have any experience with extended warranties. We are considering buying one. If I read the posts in some of the forums in the forums I get the impression that there are no good ones but that cant be true. Would appreciate comments...Al
I have a 'G' license. I can drive a truck and trailer with a combined weight of about 22,000 lbs and the towed trailer can weigh 4900kg or about 10,000 lbs axle weights. They can build trucks that tow 22000 lbs and so on but it becomes pretty cumbersome to hold an 'A' license after 65 years of...
Thinking about upgrading my Greystone. A 3250 Big Country is one that we will be looking at.....Any of you Big Country 3250 owners care to comment on your experiences? Thanks...Al
We have used our 5th wheel for a total of about 4 weeks. the countertops scratch very easily and have lots of marks. Anybody else have this problem? ......Al
I have a burned out headlight bulb on my 2005 dodge diesel. Just took a look. Does not look simple. Can someone tell me how to change the light bulb? Thanks...Al
We bought a new 29mk last August. I have a back problem. The bed height has become quite an issue. I have a problem that most older guys have in that I get up a few times each night. Wondering what my options are. I have thought of trading for a different floor plan but I would probably lose a...
We are going to AZ leaving here this weekend. Will be going to Quartzite for sure. Have some friends who dry camp there a lot. We boondock a bit but kinda like full hookup. Weather looks a little on the cold side for next 10 days or so but thats OK. Al & Mary:cool:
We have bought insurance through CAA in the past. We are wondering where others buy theirs. Lots of places to buy but......Anybody use Medipac? Thanks...Al:confused:
We plan to travel to AZ right after christmas from Ontario. Will cross over into Michigan at Fort Huron and on down to Indy to W. Memphis and Dallas and so on. Will stay at a motel first night for sure. This is usually awkward with our cat. Any campgrounds open around Indy Hwy 70 year round...
WE have a 2011 5th wheel which is covered under warranty. Also own a 2005 Dodge 2500 diesel TV. Warranty has expired on the truck. I live in Canada. I would like to buy coverage for the truck. I asked Good Sam if they would provide coverage. They told me that I would need to provide a US...
I have a 2011 5th wheel which is still under warranty. The TV is a 2005 which has no warranty. I am thinking of looking into the extended service warranty offered through Good Sam for the truck. Does anybody have any experience with this one? Also, I live in Canada and a US address is...
We owned a 2005 Titanium for 4 years traded on a Greystone this summer. Bedroom setup was OK when we first owned it but I developed a hip/back problem couple that with getting up 2 or 3 times a night we had to get rid of it. Very well built. Expensive. Titanium got a good thing when they...
Titanium (Glendale) Went out of business in Ontario I believe in Jan 2010. Now Titanium owners are excited because the rumor is that Heartland will be building the Titanium design 5th wheel.
Appreciate the information. The options that I saw here cost more than I want to pay. I will look for independent jacks that can be accomplished by adding another motor and control to the existing jacks. I would then have a control for each jack. Anyone familiar with something like this...
My previous 5th wheel had independent electric jacks on the front (motor and control for each jack). The rear had manual jacks. I miss the individual feature on the new greystone. Has anybody in here done a conversion to individual controls for each corner? I would be interested in doing...
Re: Kitchen and L/R Slideout mechanisms. It may have been an unusual question. All I am really asking is (a) who is the manufacturer? (b) what model is it? Would appreciate the information....Thanks....Al
I winterized mine about 2 weeks ago. I am 70 years and usually do my own maintenance on various 5th wheels & trailers that I have owned. I had a hard time getting to the "access" and had to squirm in from curb side. Will also make it bigger. I did not use the fresh water tank at all. Drain was...
What mechanical mechanism is used in the L/R and kitchen slides on the 29MK greystone? Who is the manufacturer? Model number? I would like to download an owners manuel. Thanks...Al
We bought a "trunk" that is about 22'X22"X22". The cover is hinged with nice hinges and the color fit the greystone. We needed a litter box for the cat so I made an opening in one side and the tray lifts out the top. Turn the 'table' 45 Deg and the opening is hidden. Dual purpose. Works for us. Al
I did not find anything underneath the slide floor that would cause it to lift up when retracted. All 3 slides fit tight against the sides when retracted. ....Al
I would like to know how the bedroom slide works. For example ....is it a rack and pinion? Chain driven? Not having a problem but need to know. Thanks....Al
No I don't have a problem. My last 5th wheel had a PD9100 converter with an added Charge Wizard. I owned it for 5 years with no battery problem and was thinking of installing a wizard on this one. I will modify the access to this. Thanks...Al
I can see a vent grate in the storage compartment underneath the 5th wheel on our 29mk. I assume the converter is inside there. The panel that the grate is attached to does not appear to be removal friendly. Anybody have experience with this? Thanks...Al
I purchased the new Greystone about 6 weeks ago. We traded our old 5th wheel for a much better layout. As we were leaving the dealer with the new 5th wheel I found that we had no brakes. Mechanics checked and found that 1 axle wires had not been connected and the other axle was so far out of...
I haven't had a chance to check this further. It is in a storage area about 15 miles away. What is odd is that only about 2-3 feet is bent up off the floor. The rest lays perfectly flat on the floor.(all observations are when slide is retracted) The explanation that this happens so that the...
Not sure I can describe this but......We have a 2011 greystone 29mk. When drivers side slide is in the floor of the slide tilts up about 3" on the front tapering back to laying flat after about 3 Ft. It fits flat on the floor for the entire length after this. Looks pretty odd. Not sure if...
I think that we should wait and see. Certainly express our concerns as people are now doing. Report things good or bad as they happen. Thor does not want bad publicity. This forum can greatly help owners. Who knows? Maybe things will actually get better.
