power cord reel

Hi all what is the brand name of the power cord reel heartland uses,do those that have them like them and in your opinion can A do it yourselfer install it Thanks Fred

I believe it is TDI, there are reels that cold be DIY, but the way the factory does it would no be a DIY option.

Depending where you want it, this item could be a good retrofit option.

The reel Heartland uses is a TDI reel product.

Should you decide to order one, the only vendor I could find is RVUpgrades.com.

Heartland uses a Heartland specific reel. So if you order one call TDI right away and they should be able to hook you up and send the correct reel. Ordering through RVUgrades just causes the reel to be drop shipped from TDI.

The reel is not that hard to do if you are mechanically inclined. The reel comes with a 4' lead for wiring into your current system and you can buy the hatch doors from a variety of vendors.

Of the things I have done to my trailer, the reel is on my top 5 list.

I HAVE A POWER REEL ON MY RIG AND i FEEL COMFORTABLE i COULD HAVE INSTALLED IT. If you are handy, so can you. Just cut a square hole put it in, caulk and go commit camping... JMHO

Where/how is it mounted that all it needs is a square hole?
