Whats up with Heartlands website, looks like they did a rehab on it. Also there is a "My Heartland". What exactly is this?

Saw the new Heartland RV website yesterday. It seems that the new website takes longer to load and locked up on me once or twice. Maybe the kinks were worked out today.

The did redo the website. It launched 2 days ago. The first time loading on any device will be the longest until the site is cached. They designed it so you can get to any product in no more than 3 clicks. They also designed it as a mobile optimized site. At this time, more people access the site from a mobile device than from a laptop/desktop. I'll move this discussion to it's own thread, but keep the feedback coming so I can push it to Marketing.

As some have noticed, the Heartland RVs website (link) has been redesigned. No one likes change but please give feedback on what you like and dislike about the new site. It will take longer to load the first time on each device.

Please try it on all your mobile devices too and give feedback on the mobile experience. Include what brand/model of mobile device you are using when you give your feedback.

I will make sure Marketing see's all your comments. Thanks.

I really like the new look. Have not clicked through it yet though. Do you know what the "My Heartland" is?

Michael, it looks like it is still under development and could be tied to the HL Facebook page.

Peace

The My Heartland is a feature for users who register on the site. It allows you to customize the site view just for you so you see what you want and not everything else. This is my understanding.

I also like the looks of the new site. When they get it finished I think it will be good. The "My Heartland" looks like it will have registration to get to the forum and also the facebook area. (I tried to register, but not working good yet.) Has good info about the Heartland Owners Club and forum.

Just need a little more time and when you do try,,, be calm and reload as needed. :)

Looks like it's a 2 step process. I received an email confirmation and link to confirm. It is still slow, but they will get it up to speed soon I am sure.

They also have the last post of some of the threads on the page that just come and go,, just random... not sure I like that. It only shows the last post of the thread and if you don't know what the thread is about in the first post... it could be misleading I think. If you click on the blue title when it is under lined it will take you to the Heartland Owners Forum and the last post in that thread.

The new site looks really good. I tried logging on with my forum login, but that didn't seem to work.

Surfing around the site I also experience quite a number of crashes. Looks like it's not quite ready for prime time yet.

I went to it on my iPad and looked around. Looks nice but failed to load front page too many times. Also went to luxury fifth wheels and no info at all once you click on lm BH or BC. Just my observations.

Moved on to the next thing...
Loaded really quick for me on my desk top computer.

Looks good, but needs some proof reading.

The myHeartland area is not new... as the Editor of the Newsletter, I have access to the marketing materials through this area. Dunno if they let everyone see everything, or what. I always thought it was geared toward dealer access.

Website looks nice and loaded on my laptop properly. However I did find delays when clicking on links from within the website. Example, when using drop down boxes to enter deeper into specific areas of the website there is a few second delay before search begins and being linked to the area you are looking to enter. Another issue is when searching for dealers the search results did not give an accurate list of dealers in my area. Not sure if this is because they are still building the data base or what the database uses as criteria to search and supply a list closest to your zip code., i.e. when I put in my zip, a NY zip, I get 7 listed results however my dealership was not listed and is located in NJ and is closer than those listed in Cananda and VA. THis happened both when searching Heartland Dealers and Landmark. Nice work so far Heartland.

Links for downloading literature require creating an account. I typically do not like having to register for sales information and usually will move on to other sites that do not require such a barrier to product information.

The links to download the Heartland Owners Manuals do not seem to be working. Just hang even after repeatedly refreshing the browse after many minutes.

Site is really slow. Even after visiting a specific page moving to a different page and then returning to a page previously visited, Both in the same session or closing the browser and opening a new session.

Hello everyone. My name is Damon Miles and I'm the webmaster and creator of the Heartland RV Website. I appreciate the awesome comments you guys have posted here so far. Please keep them coming. It helps me to refine and custom tailor the experience. I'm currently still working out the kinks as it were so I hope you can all be patient with me. With any major project of this scope, there are bound to be a few bugs. I'm working hard to get them all resolved to ensure everyone can have an enriched experience.

As for those asking about the "My Heartland" section of the site, this area is being created as a social media hub for all things related to Heartland. Soon you will be able to view and post images, videos, and join brand specific groups for discussion. This hub will connect to The Owners forum, Heartland Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube channels as well. Moreover, you will be able to log into one place and get all the Heartland media and content from multiple sources. Heartland related events and show information will be posted here too. Heartland RVs is hoping to create a place where dealers, retail, owners, sales and marketing folks could discuss and share information from one spot. And since the site is responsive, you can access it from just about any device (smartphone, tablet, laptop and PC). So stay tuned. Thanks!

Damon,

Thanks for introducing yourself to us and good luck. Your work so far is turning out great and I like the new format. I do understand that bugs will pop up from time to time and the most efficient way to handle them is through feedback. Keep an eye on the forum and you will see that there is lots of good feedback generated here. Looking forward to new things with Heartland.

Murry
