So sad for all involved with the company. Excel also built a model for Hitchhiker under their name, so apparently two names will go down.

Wasn't the Excel the first to offer the bath and a half model as well as the main door entry in the slide?

Yep, Jay...they were manufacturing for NUWA, so they're now gone too...again. Duane, correct they had the first bath and half and the had the door in the slide...

And to think Excel's downfall all started when they began installing Towmax tires on their 5th wheels!

Excel was a nice unit. I loved the hickory woodwork in their units. The dealer we bought several campers from was one of Excel's largest dealers. This is before we found Heartland. Excel was in the same price point as the Landmark and DRV. I like our Bighorn, but have always loved the Mobile Suites. In that category, nobody else compares.

Our home in NE is just 40 miles away from Smith Center. Sad for a county that has just lost its largest retailer as well. Population is dropping rapidly in the Northern Tier of KS and Southern Tier of Counties in NE. Going to be a major economic impact there.
