Fender skirt replacement

During winter storage, the fender skirt street side was damaged from snow removal. I ordered and received the new one, and curious as if while replacing if I should put putty under each hole for the fasteners and maybe a plastic washer under each fastener to prevent stress on the skirt from cracking, or replace with the fastener directly in contact with the skirt.

When I replaced mine 2 years ago, I spread a layer of JB Weld epoxy around each screw hole and covered with Gorilla tape.

I did something similar on mine too. I roughed up the plastic skin...then used fiber glass resin and the cloth to re-enforce the areas where the screws go thru. Then just snug the screws when putting them back on, not tighten them too much.

I added white plastic washers to mine when we replaced ours.

I was thinking of doing this as well, provide some movement when travelling or freeze/thaw. Both my fenders where replace before delivery by overtightened fasteners from factory.
