News this morning is talking about 100 MPH winds last night over quite a large area of the midwest. Hope everyone is ok and awnings were retracted.

Here in SW Ohio we were hit with high winds and heavy rains. We knew it was coming in and got prepared for it. We pulled in the awnings and closed the side and rear patios and waited. It hit us around 9:00pm and kept us company until about 11:30pm.
Today the campground are using the tractor and bucket refilling large channels made from the rains in the roads.

We are spending the summer in northern Illinois and we were away from the RV when the storm came through (we are full time). Actually, we were on the Interstate driving straight into the storm - we saw it coming from miles away. The sky was black, the winds were high and the rain was pelting down. There were lots of cars pulled off on the shoulders of the road. We saw uprooted trees and lots of branches on the ground. When we got back to the RV we noticed that our satellite dish had folded down on its own. We never knew it could do this - so we were happy it was not damaged. Everyone in our RV Park was safe and sound.

We spent an extra night at the WI campout and had a light rain for a couple of hours. We thank God that was all.

My mom was unaffected in North Central Iowa but I spoke to Kathy Adams and they're in the Des Moines area and they got hit with the storm pretty well. They lost some minor outdoor stuff but they and the coach are okay.

We missed it here in our little berg. Just north of us though we saw three new travel trailers on a dealers lot on their sides. Some places here as of today still w/o power.

Most of Cedar Rapids , to the north of me, is expected to be without power for another 5 to7 days due to all the damage according to an Alliant energy news announcement Thursday afternoon.

The national guard is expected to arrive and help out soon there too.
