Furnace Outlet does not line up with floor inlet Ducking.

I have a Suburban SF-35 Furnace, the outlet port on the Furnace is positioned in the middle while the floor inlet is positioned to one side. Resulting in only half of the hole open. Is this a factor defect or should I notch the floor so they align. Trying to make the best decision before applying the gasket etc.

In the photos, you can see that the floor port is over to the left.

Let me reword then ☺

On the bottom of the furnace, the outlet rectangle, does not seem to lineup with the hole in the floor.

Is it supposed too? Or did the factory cut it too far to the left?

Here is a drawing concept, Red is the Hole in the Floor, Black Is hole under Furnace.

Got it.

Common sense would indicate that the way it's installed would cut the air flow through the heater by 50%. Which on the surface would seem to be wrong. However, before making a change, I think you might want to call Heartland. Have your VIN ready. They may have had some reason for that arrangement. They should be able to look at their drawings and make that determination weather it's correct or not.

If the hole is supposed to line up with the heater box, then I would make that change.

It looks like there may have been a plenum there that he those ducts plugged into. If you are doing it yourself, be sure that the ducts will reach the adjusted plenum location before your begin.
