Snap Pins for landing gear

Am I missing something here?
The factory installed snap pins on my 2011 BH seem substantial and fine. Never had any problems with them, so far. Look alot like the one's in John's pictures.
What is the problem everyone is having? Trace

The problem is, I just bought my 08". So, were they OE, I don't know. they were made in China and the difference is readily noticeable. the cheep ones use thin, in my opinion, attachment parts to the square tube. You can tell by looking at them. They have ears on them (now, before anyone says anything, not the kind of ears us humans have). The better ones use heavier flat stock. Mine are bent by overtightened by previous owner.
