ATF: MPG - Need new fenders and running lights

Not sure of the brand. Camping World put them on when they replaced a bad axle. No name Chinese, possibly RTS.

ATF: MPG - Need new fenders and running lights

Well, I put on expensive D range tires and after 5000 miles one of them blew its treads at 65mph in Colorado and took out the fender on my MPG181. Hint, DON'T BUY CHINESE TIRES! So, I have to replace a fender, and since (I believe) Heartland no longer stocks the custom tear drop fenders, I'll...

    water heater question

One quick note. Make sure there is water in your hot water tank (that it is not in 'bypass' mode') before turning on the red 110v water heater switch. If the water heater element is dry when the switch is turned on it will burn out in a matter of seconds. And yes, everyone is correct. The...

    Lost another axle :-(

First axle was bad from the factory and replaced under warranty. The new axle solved the sway problems. But the other day, driving back from New Brunswick Canada I noticed sway again. The weather was bad and winds were high so I thought it was that, but at the next fuel stop I took a look...

    Interested in MPG 184

Sounds like a plan Clarice! Check out this forum. The main issue with the MPG's were a bad batch of axles. The axle company, Lippert, has replaced most of them, but if you buy a used one, look for wear on the inside edge of the tires. That's an indication that the axle has to be replaced...

ATF: MPG - Toilet water line repair

Hi Guys, Must have left some water in the line over the winter. I have a small leak just where the water line enter the Thetford toilet in my MPG 181. It seems to be where the right angle connector meets the body of the toilet. I tried to remove the toilet, removed the 2 floor bolts, but it...

    1st camp with mpg 185

If you were running on propane there is probably air in the line. Usually after 3 attempts to start it will shut itself off. There is a mode mentioned in the manual for starting it when there is air in the line. Do you have the manual? If not I'll find mine and write back with details.

ATF: MPG - Lippert Hybrid axle bar for MPG

I also added a sway bar which helped, but I still had one bad instance after adding it (on a long downhill I hit 70 without realizing it). Since my axle change I haven't had ANY sway issues. If any of your tires are showing severe wear on the inside, I strongly suggest changing the axle. If...

ATF: MPG - Lippert Hybrid axle bar for MPG

Curious how many people have had the axle problem with their MPG's? Besides for the mechanical issue, it's also a safety issue. I had 2 serious sway events that nearly threw me and the rig off the road. I'm wondering if Heartland should be more on top of this and possibly issue a recall if it...

ATF: MPG - Lippert Hybrid axle bar for MPG

I haven't installed the axle bar, but I did have the inside wear problem and Lippert replaced the axle under warranty. I originally went through Heartland and they really didn't deal with the issue. Fortunately someone on this board suggested contacting Lippert directly and they were on it in...
