    propane tankless water heater

This is the unit I purchased for my sauna project. (low flow and pressure propane operated with battery ignition) It will provide plenty of hot water for a sink and shower. I chose to go with an offgrid style build having almost everything on 12V for easier operation while boon docking.

    propane tankless water heater

Has anyone here ever tried to bypass their stock tank and use a tankless on demand unit? I have had issues with our stock 120/gas heater and am considering a change. I have ordered a portable unit to use for my portable sauna project and thought this might work well for the camper also.

    Antenna Questions

Our previous trailer a 2012 trail runner had the ribbon type antenna It was tied up in a ball behind the head unit which I found when I pulled it out Stretching out this antenna was the ticket to improving reception to some degree Perhaps pulling out the head unit will allow you to see what...

OH NO I have a leak!!

We had a 2012 trail runner that had a serious leak at one or more of the marker lights across the front of the trailer when we first took possession. The manager of our dealership had the nerve to accuse me of leaving the storage doors open all week while the trailer was parked on public land un...

    Stove top exhaust fan replacement

Has anyone ever found a replacement fan that does not resemble a jet engine when you turn it on? I have been looking to change out that fan in the last three trailers I have owned for years now.

    Sharkbite Good or Bad

In our last trailer I had to rebuild the hot water tank bypass when one of the plastic valves failed de-winterizing. I used some shark bite tee fittings, shut off valves and inline fittings. They were easy to work with and leak free up until we traded it in. The fittings were cheaper than a pex...

Some shark bite plumbing fittings to go with the pipe I had to use them to re build a hot water bypass one spring.....turned one valve and it broke in my fingers due to the cheap plastic fittings they used lol

    Mice in Shelves

Spray foam may not work well. I stuff the openings with steel wool....regular steel wool is messy and can be messy with rust and such. I bought some stainless steel scrubbers for dish washing and unraveled them to use. Great for mice.....squirrels just pull it out and make a nest with it lol...

    Waterproof Autoformer??????

We have a permanent site and all I do is place the autoformer on top of a piece of plywood and then place a plastic tote over top of it to protect it from the elements. I also try to leave an air gap to allow any heat generated by the autoformer to escape

Opinions on heating when off grid.

Using calculations based on a 40 000 btu furnace you will get around 30 hours run time from two 30 lb tanks of propane. How fast you use the 30 hrs available will vary on all the external factors such as wind, ambient temperature, heat loss due to insulation levels in your unit etc. As for battery...

    Winter camping

Assuming your furnace is 40 000btu you can expect aprox 32 hours of run time off of two 30 lb bottles (less time if running other propane appliances) Now how fast you run the clock out will be determined by the outdoor temperature ,wind, heat loss and temperature the trailer is set to etc. This...
