When picking up the Sandance in Batavia, I overheard the internet salesperson, Jamie Holberg, say that Holamn RV was having a tremendous April. She said 71 units had been sold - seemed very excited.
Yeah, let's hope this is a sign of things turning.
Thanks for the info Larry,
I purchased a can of Dupont Teflon Multi-Purpose for locks form Lowes. I serviced both locks and the top one is as smoothe as butter now. The bottom one will still only let the key half-way in. Mechanism seems to be off-kilter.
I'll strip the lock down this...
I took one look at the top lock and left it alone as it had a sticker over the lock. I was using the bottom one. It worked a couple of times before and yes the action was a little tricky. However the key will now only penetrate halfway before sticking. I used both keys before and both will...
I travelled 1600 miles (800 each way) from Wichita, KS to Cincinnati, OH for a couple of reasons.
- No dealer in Kansas had the model I was looking for.
- My dealer 5 miles down the road was 'hunkering down' and had little inventory.
- I'd have to order it in and lose any chance of...
Dear diary, day two we drove through rain to get home. Day three terrible storms blew through Wichita. Huge downpour with 60 mph winds. Sundance in the driveway was taking a pounding. We fear the worst. :(
Day 4: Checked out the Sundance expecting to see puddles of water and things broken...
John, thanks for the kind words and for publishing the PDI Checklist. As absolute rookies to towing a camper of anysort we would have been totally lost without it.
Towing for the first time was daunting, taking corners for the first time was intimidating, setting up and hooking up at a camp...
We picked up the Sundance on Friday from Holman RV! Having left Kansas at 2.30pm on Thursday and arriving in Cincinnati at 5am on Friday it was quite a challenge to get the hitch installed and the walk-through started at 8am.
Anyway, our ‘ guide’ Jim was very knowledgeable but kept on letting...
Larry, the lock worked fine when we overnighted on the way home but would not open when we got home. Thank goodness for the laundy chute and a wife who could fit through it.
Man that is funny. On day two of ownership my key would not open the lock. Had to send the wife in via the laundry chute with a philpis screwdriver to take the lock apart from the inside.
Now I need to figure out how to get the key to work by lubing the lock, asking for a replacement lock or...
Jim, thanks for the warm welcome and friendly advice.
Taking a corner for the first time will be an experience. As will be parking and reversing. I intend to take it real slow and practice a lot. I'll be double checking the hitch for days to come but I like the idea of a routine and stick...
