    "RV" Shows ??

Hi, I've been to 3-4 Kentucky events in the last year, titled "RV Show", "Boat and RV Show", etc. I've been really disappointed in all of them. Maybe it's just Kentucky. For example: I just went to the Lexington "Boat and RV Show" in Rupp Arena. There were probably 100 boats...

Spending this winter in Lexington, KY - how can I freezeproof the RV?

Hi, I live in Lexington, and grizzlygiant said it pretty well. We usually get 4-5 snows a winter, maybe 2-3 inches, and one "good one", around 6-7 inches. I would expect the temps to be better than Michigan, though. It does get really cold and stay cold for up to a few weeks. Below zero is...

3G access -- proving it works

Bob, Here's my experience, using 3G devices at home. I had an ATT HTC Tilt phone, and got the "tethering" option to use for my Internet connection. (I wanted to see how it would work.) For the most part, it worked fine. However, I had to find just the right spot to lay the phone to get a...

Home surveillance system to view online

Jim, Sorry - in my haste, I mis-read this. I thought the post was about surveillance of an RV - not a house. :) I've wondered about having cameras in an RV, to monitor it while you're not there. Lannie

Home surveillance system to view online

Jim and Tom, That many camera's? Sounds like a London shopping neighborhood. ;) Just curious, and you don't have to give specifics if they're "super-secret". Are they the small hidden cameras, or ones you can obviously see? Inside and outside? Some pictures might be interesting to see...

    New 2010 F-250 5.4

My two cents, as I'm getting ready to probably buy a 2008 5.4. Towing, braking, etc., would definitely be better with the diesel. However, with diesel fuel being at least 40 cents more per gallon than gas (gulp !!!!), and more than that at a few stations here, a diesel won't perform better...

Best method for securing things to the roof or installing a bike rack?

Hi, I have no experience with this - yet - only reading lots of posts. :o I read a post/article, maybe a couple of months ago, from someone with solar/engineering experience basically saying the wiring size is the key to a successful install. He said (I'm paraphrasing here) the...

Is out-of-state firewood allowed in Florida?

In Kentucky, they're having a billboard/radio campaign saying "Don't Move Firewood!" They're trying to stop the Borer. I think it's been found in Kentucky already, but not widespread (yet).

Some information on the Ford 6.0 engine-long post

    OK, guys - how about this ? A Ford F-350 with a Cummins 5.9L diesel !! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FORD-SUPER-DUTY-4WD-DIESEL-5-9L-CUMMINS-DODGE-3500-2500-/250623220899?cmd=ViewItem&pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item3a5a4edca3

Some information on the Ford 6.0 engine-long post

Ricatic, This is a lot of good information, but a little confusing for a newbie. I'm shopping for an F-250 right now, and am specifically looking for a 6.0. In your posts, you mention lots of items that have been "resolved". Does "resolved" mean all of those have been recalls? Is there any way...

    "Early" vs. "Late" 2004 Ford F250 ?

I've discovered that the truck was manufactured/delivered to the dealer in May 2004. That would make it one of the "late" ones. I'm researching the diesel sites now. Thanks for the info, as always. :O)

    "Early" vs. "Late" 2004 Ford F250 ?

Hi all, I read a couple of posts awhile back, which stated that the "early" 2004 F-250 (diesel only?) trucks had a serious problem, and to only buy "late" 2004 trucks, or newer. I've found a 2004 Lariat diesel online that looks good, and I have the VIN. Is there anyway to tell when it was...

    Bighorn in Lexington, KY

;) I was drooling. A Bighorn with four slides filling up at the Speedway gas station, Hamburg area, near I-75. Being towed by a Michigan Chevy 2500HD 4x4, white, looked like two occupants. It looked like a brand new unit - still had some tags on it. :D

New Repo RV - Bargain or Bomb?

Bob - Can you buy a third party warranty on a unit when the original warranty has expired? I would think they would want coverage in place, before they would sell their coverage. Otherwise, I'd just wait til something broke, then buy their policy, then ask for a repair check the next day. ;o)...

    Purchase Through Richardson's RV

Website? I'm curious about the "heartlandexpress" website mentioned. I went there, but it's the website for a trucking company. Is that the correct URL?
