I too installed the roof edge flashing strips as Alan did and they seem to be doing the job. I didn't jack up the slide and just put them as far in as I could. I also added a 1" drywall screw at the end nearest the camper wall just in case the strip wanted to pull down when putting the slide in...
We are full-timers and usually shut our water heater off after we shower in the morning. Yesterday we left it on till my wife did dishes and she said the water seemed unusually hot. This morning we turned on the water heater on gas and it would not light or even try to, put it on elec., nothing...
Re: Second ac unit
Besides all the other reasons listed here for adding the second A/C, we had our main A/C blower go out and have been without it for a month waiting for a new one from Dometic. They finally decided they couldn't get just the blower and are replacing the top half of the A/C...
Not really the same thing, but they are both water softeners. There Borax mixes well if you use hot water. I just go to the outside shower to fill the bucket with hot water after I have added the borax. I then stir it with a wooden spoon until it dissolves.
I know this has been said before, but I have a lot of experience working with hydraulic hoses, cylinders and such and there is no way that the hoses laying in a tangled mess in the underbelly with all the electrtical and water lines could cause or rub a leak in the hose, unless the hose got...
Try 20 Mule Team Borax, its much cheaper and for works just as well if you mix it with hot water. Walmart has its own brand, I believe and its usually in the washing detergent section.
Yes you are missing something. There is a mechanical advantage to the hydraulic cylinder depending on the size of actuating piston. So, it wouldn't be out of the question for a cylinder to be rated for 7000 lbs. while only having 2500 lbs. operation pressure.
New plan on repairs. Would take too long to get just fan motor, so Dometic is sending everything that goes above the roof. Should be here this week. Good thing we're in WI. We're cooling the whole camper with the bedroom A/C and a fan blowing cold air down to the rest of the camper. Works pretty...
I could've said the same thing but the fan on the A/C quit last week. Still under warranty though. We are very happy with our 3600RE. We are full-timers and have 5600 miles on our unit since the 10th of June last year. Had a few minor problems, but considering its like a rolling earthquake in...
I know that, but they are are controlled by the same thermostat and the low speed A/C fan and furnace fan run off the same contact on the thermostat. Depending on if you have it on heat or cool.
Ok, the repairman was here yesterday and found that the A/C fan motor was bad. Its a chinese motor and he'll have to have Dometic send him one. As far as the furnace fan, I took the cover off the thermostat and found the screw was loose on the wire going to the fan. So, that runs now. When I...
No, you can leave that on and then operate it with the two switches inside. The one for gas operation and the red residential one for electric operation. Always make sure there is water in the heater before either type of operation, but especially electric.
I posted the same problem two days ago. I called Heartland customer service and they directed me to Dometic (one year warranty ran out June 10th) and they gave me the phone numbers of two shops that were authorized Dometic repair shops. Surprisingly, one of them no longer services Dometic A/C's...
