Re: Dodge 3500 Crew Cab 4x4 dually
Bret, I have a 2011 Dodge Ram Laramie 3500 SRW with 4:10. I pull the bighorn 3670RL and get between 10-11 mpg.
empty running around averages around 16.5 mpg. I'm sure the 4:10's have a lot to do with that but like having the tow capacity when I need it. Love...
I have a 2011 Ram 3500 SRW, 8' bed with 4:10 rear. Pulls the 2011 Bighorn 3670RL great. Also with the engine brake running through the mountains is a joy. Pulling I get between 10 & 11 mpg. Running around town it's about 16.5.
Looked at the megacab but really wanted the 8' box.
Not sure what park your staying at but we managed the San Antonio KOA and the mobile repair that does most of the work is just a half mile away so almost makes his second home at the park. He took care of my RM1350 a couple of months ago, not a penny out of pocket. His name is Allen and does a...
Third cooling unit was the charm for us! (Knock on wood) This one has been in and working the best the RM1350 has worked in 2 years. Now we can't run it on #5 or it will bring the fridge down to 32 degrees. I did make sure the tech really put the transfer jell to it when he put in the last one...
Gary, we feel your pain. We have a 2011 bighorn 3670RL, our initial 1350 worked great for 18 months, then the temp wouldn't get below the mid to upper 40's then into the 50's. A tech came out did all the standard Dometic checks and Dometic agreed to replace the cooling unit. Worked great for 6...
BTW Jim, we left San Antonio 6 weeks ago to help out a new KOA conversion and now have decided to stay. If you get the chance take a look at onalaskakoa.com
Come out and visit, it's just 20 miles from Rainbow the escapees park. Getting ready to start construction on a 3200 sq ft club house with...
Thanks for the info, it's actually just south of Rapid City. Am thinking I might have to have them put me in a cabin for December through February and winterized the Bighorn.
Again many thanks.
One of the "perks" is free propane. But I'm afraid you might be right in the water lines freezing. We have a heated hose but if anything in the belly freezes I'm done.
As for going south, we have managed parks in Florida and Texas and just looking for something different. Just not sure how that...
I'm looking for input into cold weather camping, well living in this case. We have a 2011 Bighorn 3670RL and have been in Arizona in 110 degree heat, Texas with 100 plus temps and high humidity and have done pretty well. My question here is without the Yeti package and no thermal pane windows...
Re: Ideas Please....Dometic 1350 "between the doors flap" stopped flipping all the way forward when closing doors
I spray just a bit of silicone at the pivot points and has worked great.
I use the tripod, not sure it does much good but since I installed the stackable washer/dryer it gives me a piece of mind having the extra support. Maybe someone can let me know if it's anything to worry about or not. I really don't like having it.
The tech came today and installed the new cooling unit. Sure do hope third time's a charm! I did make sure the gel was applied and he tightened down on all the screws. It's been running now for about 6 hours and the temp is dropping. Just measured the temp on the back wall of the freezer section...
So the tech comes out, does the standard tests, calls Dometic, they have him do some other tests and put a temp probe in a glass of water for 8 hours, so tomorrow he will call them back, tell them that the fridge is 60 and the freezer is 35 and then will agree to ship out another cooling unit...
We have managed KOA campgrounds for the past 11 years from California to Maine and each one I can remember require a sign per the health department and KOA Corporate that a sign must be posted stating "not potable water". And all for good reason, as stated if you think about folks using that...
I wouldn't think the defrost would take more than 24 hours. I did go ahead and torx the screws that hold the fridge fins on and sure enough all but one I could tighten, so they were not tight at all. Time will tell if this helps.
Just took another reading on the back of the freezer with my digital thermometer, 25 degrees, fridge fins are at 57 this is more and more sounding like a transfer problem. But why did it work so well before?
I do know that when the Tech installed the new one he did put the gell on. Worked great for the past 6 weeks (34). Guess we will see what the factory says tomorrow.
Thanks Jim, just hard to believe it would be another cooling unit. I am fortunate that we have a mobile tech that comes here and takes care of it so I don't have to hookup and carry to the dealer.
As for the campground around Savannah the best would have been the KOA just south in Richmond Hill.
Thanks Dan, the freezer temp is 31.1 degrees running on the coldest setting. When they replaced the cooling unit 6 weeks ago I watched and the fans which are mounted to a metal cross bar are in very secure. The strange part is that we have had hotter weather and been able to maintain 34 degrees...
A few things from the grocery store, just 2 of us so we control how often we open the fridg pretty well. And we haven't traveled in a year since we manage the campground. This just dosn't make sense. A new cooling unit and it's fine for a few weeks and starts all over again. I'm hoping Dometic...
We have a RM1350, 6 weeks ago we couldn't get the temp below 48. After having my mobile RV Tech take a look he decided it needed a new coil, he worked with Dometic and they sent out a new unit, installed it and the temp came back down to the usual 34 degrees. We had become used to. Well today it...
Does anyone know how to contact the brand manager for the Country Ridge? I asked my dealer a couple of questions and no answers and then emailed Heartland and no response. Am thinking about buying a unit but have questions un-answered.
Thanks!
Anyone attending the show your invited to stay at the San Antonio KOA less than a mile from the coliseum. Will even give all going a 15% discount. Come on by and say hello!

Maybe the timing is wrong. I sure do miss the rally's after going to the first Georgia Rally. Anyone have a time that might better fit everyones's schedule? I understand some will be going to Goshen and so wish we could go ourselves.
Let's get together and have some fun!
Input greatly appreciated.
So I won't call it a rally but how about getting together for a get together some weekend? Maybe the end of June? We are staying at a nice new park here in Wichita Falls.

I maybe able to get a reduced rate and get the hall. Also, the local Heartland dealer I'm sure...
Left the KOA in Richmond Hill Georgia Sunday morning and arrived here in Wichita Falls Texas this afternoon. Played it safe and kept on the southern route just missing the storms. Only had maybe 15 mins of rain Monday evening and wind for most of the trip. Not one single problem with our Bighorn...
