    MorRyde IS & pinbox installation

I did it, took the 15 hour trip to Elkhart and had the MorRyde IS system installed. While I was there I also had them install their pin box. BIG difference in ride and handling. On the trip home the rig handled beautifully. I hit the end of tropical storm Ida on the way back and it did not...

    Axle & disc brakes

Heartland was no help, Eric refered me to Lippert. Lippert refered me back to Heartland, undersized axle. I am not gonna get in the middle of Eric's fuzzy math. He said their reason for switching to 7000lb. axles as that they were "more available". Yeah.Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Anyway, I got in touch...

    Axle & disc brakes

Sorry I thought I made it clear that the 375.00 price was for 2 axles only no springs. They trell me they are the same diameter, but thicker walls My real concern with that is it ok to change just the tubes and not the springs. It is easier although more time consuming to change just the...

    Axle & disc brakes

Dont know. Just coincidentially I was in Conneticut in the middle of the summer and stopped at a truck stop for diesel. While there I drove onto the scales, it showed a axle weight of 11,500 lbs. Seems right even for 2-6000lb. axles. See attached ticket

Well here it is 3 years from when I picked up my BH. All in all I still would buy another. A lot of little problems but nothing major until now. After 3 camping seasons we were on our way back from Dorney Park in PA with the grandkids when my brother in law from behind me tells me that my rear...

JP- I did not mean to break any rules. As a matter of fact I did not think I did. I did not divulge my final price or the show price. I just was giving an example of what the negotiated prices were and how inflated the actual prices are.

Rodstar- if your serious about a Landmark- Negotiate, they will be receptive to all offers- be ridiculios in your offer, you never know. I offered them **,000.00 less than their show price and wound up paying about *,000.00 less. From what I have read on other forums dealers have a 38-50%...

I bought mine from these guys. They are an excellent dealership to work with. I am sure they are motivated to get rid of the rigs on their lot. I actually had bought the 3400 but switched at the last minute to the 3500. NEGOTIATE!!!!! Their prices are the best around. I went to the Penn. RV...

Kitchen and living room light switch.

I did that mod awhile ago. I installed 2 3ways for the living area lights. One turns on at the bottom of the entrance steps & the other is pictured below. I also relocated the bath switch into the bath room and added a fan switch. Added a switch next to the bed for the slide out lights.

    Generator Use

I cannot find any info that the regulator cuts off with a line rupture, interesting concept. Anybody know for sure? Do not confuse the new Overfill Prevention Device (OPD) on propane tanks with a shutoff. It just protects against overfill.

    Generator Use

I always travel with the propane valcves off. Too much road debris and the trailer damage I have seen posted due to tire blowouts has me doing that. The last thing I want to do is look in the rear view mirror and see flames coming out of the bottom of my rig.

    Cooking a Turkey,,,

You can also buy firebrick at Home Depot. It is 3/4" thick and made to take the heat. Heres a tip I learned from Harts Turkey Farm http://www.hartsturkeyfarm.com/ at a motorcycle rally. They cook their birds upside down to keep all the juices in the breast. For the last hour they turn it...

Oil change- when do you do it?

My Chevy diesel has a "oil life" percentage caluculator built in to the DIC. I have read that it does not just keep track of the mileage but also RPM's and other driving conditions to make the calculation. What is your thoughts, 3,000......4,000......5,000 or take the advise of the DIC?

Black and gray tanks backing up

I also believe in every other trip, dumping in a couple of bags of ice and a bottle of water softener. The ice knocks down all the solids off the sidewalls while driving, the softener smells good and treat the tanks.

Black and gray tanks backing up

I swear by the Flush King: http://www.campingworld.com/browse/skus/index.cfm?skunum=20522 The best test is to clean and flush the tank the usual way, then hookup the King. You WILL be suprised at what you are not getting out.

    Annode Rod replacement

Hi Ray I take mine out to winterize the rig every year. The idea of the rod is that the minerals in the water will attack and eat away the magnesium or aluminum that is wrapped around a steel core wire instead of the tank. As long as there is material on the rod it is still good. I...

    The "RED" switch

The red switch in mine turns the electric on in the hot water heater. Don't confuse that with the rocker switch on the water monitor panel, that turns on the gas to the hot water heater. In other words the water heater works on gas or electric, or both. I use the electric only when hooked up...
