    Beyond a warranty issue

Nor have we. It appears to us that the OP wants to offload not because of major structural or safety issues, but because of what might be wrong in the future. We've had a lot of great times with our BH. We've had problems along the way also. But if we threw in the towel after a few items that...

    Beyond a warranty issue

Perhaps Heartland does, but I wouldn't bet the ranch on it. Let me ask you what is good on your trailer? Seems to me that you're focused on issues that appear to have been resolved.

    Beyond a warranty issue

You know that this is an owner's forum. Heartland doesn't monitor it. If you want to contact Heartland, you need to call them. Martha

    RV Outlet of NMB

In March, 2019, we had several repairs made to our 6 year old 5th wheel trailer. We paid around $4,000 for all the repairs - reasonable price for what was done. On a trip this month, our automatic leveling system became inoperable (had not been on scope of work in March). We called to arrange an...

Visited the RV Hall of fame in Elkhart today

We went to the RV Museum last summer. Nice facility. Very interesting looking at all the trailers from the past. Some were ones we'd use today!

Have an appointment to tour the toyhauler factory in Elkhart next Tuesday

If you get a chance, there are two more fascinating museums in the area - the Studebaker Museum in South Bend & a Railroad museum in Elkhart. Both are well worth the time. Congrats on your son's graduation.

    Warranty repairs

When we had to have warranty or any other work done at a dealer, we ask them how long it will take for the part request to go to Heartland. Most times they say this afternoon or tomorrow morning. We will tell them that we have to call Heartland to check the status on something we ordered (our...

Long Trip Planned for this Spring and Summer

We actually met a grandson of Sitting Bull and had an interesting conversation with him at the museum at Crazy Horse. There is a lot of info on the tribes as well as an area where crafts are being made for sale. We also enjoyed Tombstone, AZ despite the commercial overtones.

Storing RV for summer in SC

I see what you're saying, however leaving vents open - with or without covers (we also have them) - is problematic where humidity is a problem. We have the kind of humidity that doesn't encourage sweating. The difference between east coast and wear coast weather is like night and day. We were...

Storing RV for summer in SC

SC has a lot of humidity. In my reading of the OP, it seems that they aren't nearby to close vents in case of our nasty summer & fall storms or check on the status of the dehumidifiers.

Storing RV for summer in SC

We pull all of the batteries, doors ajar (refrigerator, cabinet, etc), damp rid in multiple locations, shades closed. We don't suggest ventilation since it's during hurricane season.

Ford or Chevy honest opinion needed.

Our 2012 Silverado 2500HD with Duramax and Allison transmission has given us no problems pulling out trailer or driving around. Too many people we know have had nothing but issues with their Ford's and Rams.

What to pull our 2011 Bighorn 3610RE with

We pull out 2013 3670RL BH with our 2012 Chevy 2500HD Silverado crew cab. It has a 6.6L Duramax turbo diesel and Allison 1000 6 speed automatic transmission. We've gone on 5 coast to coast round trips and many more regional trips with no problems. She's a workhorse.

Be careful with parking garage ramps. They jump out and smack your truck. Don't ask - what happened in Vegas didn't stay there.

Considering Bighorn - Worried about issues I've read about

Just think about the number of people posting vs the number of units actually on the road. We've had our 2013 since 10/2012 and despite some repairs we've had to make, we'd buy it again.

    Repair list.

We've put thousands of miles on our rig & full timed for a solid year before becoming occasional 3-4 month travelers. We found out issues during PDI. The problems you're describing are to us normal wear and tear - not something extraordinary - and items we have repaired. Safe travels, Martha

    Repair list.

Good PDI is absolutely the key. We signed nothing until we had a repair list and a we owe you list signed by the dealer with a schedule made for all to be accomplished. Easy to draw up on the spot and puts the dealer on notice that you're not serious and this ain't your first rodeo.

    Repair list.

Just an observation. You spend more on a house than in an RV. Do you need to repair and replace things on and in your house? I suspect so. If things were made perfectly, there would be no reason for replacement parts or repair people. No one likes to have to make repairs or replace items...
