2013 Key Largo
Finally getting around to installing a bedroom dish box and cannot locate the coax location for the TV. The only one I can find is in the closet. Does anyone know exactly where the coax for the TV is located?? Hard to believe that the connection point is in the closet why install...
Jim,
Perhaps you didn't notice that I did not say Heartland had issues or only Heartland had issues. I used the brand as a reference point for claims that RV manufacturers did not have engineers on staff. I posted this here because I felt Tom Montague would reply and he and Andy from Lippert...
Dan,
We both understand that.. kinda impossible to design otherwise. What I am looking for is who designs and specs out the frame. There is no hidden agenda as far as I can tell. It's basically a question of who does what. I'm looking for a definitive answer on the frame design and engineering...
Tom,
There is a post in a forum that is discussing the Lippert frame issues. A poster is insisting that there are no engineers on staff at for example, Heartland and all engineering is farmed out including the frame design. Can you tell us how the engineering works at Heartland? I find it hard...
Getting ready to schedule service near our 'home' park. For the life of me I cannot remember what hubs were used on the '13 LM's.
Never Lube, EZ-lube (hope not) or gotta lube it yerself (best)
Tom,
Would that be true on the '13 Key Largo?
Also, I've said it before, change the location of the fuse box and cb panels!! You're targeting an older audience with the LM line and older farts have bad knees, backs and eye balls. Locating it would make life so much easier and, if located up...
The dual stage struts are only if the valves remain intact. If one fails it will push the other strut up.
After many close calls and one #$$# crap moment, I added safety cables to both struts. IMHO, dual stage struts are a patch and not a fix. A correctly sized strut that stops the door short of...
We had some warranty work that needed to be done and two repairs. We full time and were in New Caney TX for the winter. All work would need to be done at the RV park as I was unable to move the rig for a few months.
Shortly after arriving, we lost heat during the night. Switched propane...
But the funny thing is, it would cheaper to unroll x feet telephone cable and spend very little money installing it and a temp probe and still be ahead over the cost of another stat.
It makes no sense to install a zone control system then not actually create the zones.
Dan, yes staggering the...
Essentially, you have the same setup as a standard rig. Control the front ac with one stat and the main AC and heater via the stat in the hallway. There should have been a sensor where the stat is and wired into hallway stat. There should also be a comm cable between the front and rear AC units
Hi Dan,
For me;
1. Enable control of both AC's via one stat instead of running two.
2. Enable you to set the auto mode so it will work as designed
If you think about it, with a temp sensor in place of the stat in the bedroom, doesn't change how the bedroom AC works. You control the temp just as...
You know, since the cable runs up to bedroom AC, and there is communication cable that is supposed run between the AC units, in theory you could replace the front stat with the sensor and install the comm cable...
What we're saying is that if you have a two zone system, zone one controls one AC and Zone two controls the other AC unit. A temp sensor for each zone would be installed somewhere in the zone being controlled. Zone one would control the main AC by setting it's temperature at a set temp of 70...
Agreed, but again that was the Dometic techs point also. Why install their zone system if you're not going to do it correctly? Why not install two simple stats instead?
Personally, i'd rather see a separate temp sensor in the bedroom and a single stat setup as designed
Found out I have a bad communication cable from the main AC to the stat in the hallway.
During the troubleshooting, the tech needed to call Dometic for some info on the communication setup. The Dometic tech explained that the way the system is setup, there is a communication cable between the...
2013 LM Key Largo
Lost heat last night, checked CCC2 had E1 error. Did reset got the INIT screen and Zone 1 only with selections for cool and fan. Did the front stat and still have zone 1 but, still have the selection for furnace.
Good A/C DC fine, no blown fuses on the 12v panel.
Ideas?
Yes, they already called. It is basically a supplier faucet no real brand name. I wanted it for two reasons a reference tool for future needs and an exploded view of the nut, locking tab and top peaces. Mine keeps working loose and I want to make sure the tab is bent over (if it has one).
What brand and model faucet was used in the '13 Landmark? It's one of few manuals I don't have and I need to do some tightening.
With my knees, one down, under and up is more than enough..
One of the very few manuals I do not have is the kitchen faucet. This is the pull down, separate single handle high arc, brushed nickle model.
Anyone know the Brand / Model??
Thanks
Robbie,
Yes, exactly and that is the issue. There is no need for a two stage strut if a correct length one is used. Think about it, the only reason you need a two stage strut is that it is too long to begin with.
Had a blind string break and one is fixing to. Yesterday I was doing some research and came across a thread mentioning the company that builds the blinds would also repair them? I can do the restring myself but we are still under warranty... Or, maybe my OFD is really acting up..
Kary,
Do you have a diagram or image of the safety cable? Can I get one since I am still under warranty? Would have been nice to know before it got damaged....
Hi Dan,
On our Key Largo, only the forward bumper will hit the bedroom slide bottom and the under 1" thickness doesn't leave enough clearance from the latch to the slide. A shorter, single stage strut will fix it.
Would be nice to have a shorter one stage strut on the off side bay door. One that is just long enough to stop the door short of hitting the bedroom slide.
If someone (ahem) doesn't verify the door is down before you pull the bedroom slide in tear up the slide and the door...
I replaced the flap several times on our old rig. Every time I'd forget to latch it, it would break. A little careful flexing and you can pop it right in. I don't even bother to unlatch it anymore.
Thought about getting one and trying to make it spring loaded... Light spring tension should...
Redwood has been Thor since day 1. Ran as a separate brand but still under Thor's umbrella.

Don't want to bug CS since somebody here will know the answers.
What brand light assembly is used in the stairwell lighting? I have an idea for a couple of these but all my searches come up blank...
Also and Jim may know the answer here. On our '13 LM, there is some cabling in the front...
Re: Next Newbe Question: Air Compressor
I use a 150 psi 120 v compressor that sits in the forward bay. It has a small on board tank and it was too slow airing up the tires to 110 psi so I bought 10 gal tank from lowe's and now I just pull it out of the front bay, run some curly-q hoses and I'm...
Usually, condensate forms out the coils and drains out unless it freezes.. Since the bathroom is a small enclosed area with it's own duct, the conditions are pretty well perfect for this to happen. We had ACM (Air Cycling Machines) we used to cool avionics systems on aircraft and on a humid day...
We're at Andrews AFB (DC) and it's hot and humid. They only have 30 amp so the back AC runs almost non stop. Unless you want it to be 78 in the afternoon, you start with it cool like 71. I went to the bathroom and water dripped on me! Sort of like the MIB movie scene where the goop dropped on...
To say it is a 'good choice' is a bit under stated IMHO. Although we've had more teething problems than I expected we love this floor plan!! Just this AM. a F-350 stopped out front and they just looked at the rig... I nodded, got a thumbs up and they drove off. We get a lot of comments like...
I bought a 25 pack from Amazon...
