So we decided on the Forest River Cedar Creek 38FL. Fun Town Houston gave us a great deal on the trade in and the OTD price on the Cedar Creek was to hard to pass up. I love the gel coat that Cedar Creek uses on their trailers, I have not seen a trailer in this price range with that fit and...
So as some of you know I had a issue with teh front cap on my 300C. But a quick back story on it. My trailer went in for service and two days after I got it back from them we noticed a hole in the front Cap. Wife and I felt this happened while it was in their shop. Anywho, CW decided to fix...
Well, time has come to shop for a new RV. The toy has gotten bigger and the Toy Haulers have become very limited to fit the needs. We looked at Heartland of course has I would definitely be a repeat buyer. However, we need a 14ft garage or bigger and none of their floor plans meet our needs...
My issue with the hole in the front cap has been resolved at Camping World. The General Manager (Erik) stepped up and said they will cover the fiber glass repair. I agreed to cover the window that was shattered in the main slide out.
I just hope my issue has not scared anybody off from...
It has been a very bad two weeks for me. This trailer and how Camping World is handling it has made it even worst. We were about to trade this trailer off as we need a 14ft Garage now. The trailer we went has been located. But that is now delayed for how long? I am sure I can tell you how...
Nobody can account for the damage to the trailer, or I should say nobody is willing to admit to the damage. The only thing that I will have on myside is when they pull the video of the trailer entering the fenced off area that separates the parking lot from the service area. This will be the...
So Last weekend I picked up my 300C that I had in for service. I picked it up late Friday 14th. Made it to the store right at closing to sign the papers for the service and by time I made it out to the trailer it was already dark. The battery was dead on the trailer which is normal as it sat...
Ford added a little feature to their 6.7 diesel which is a joke. If the temp on the exhaust (EGT's) is to high it will shut the engine down without warning. Not a great feeling when you have your two daughters with you on the interstate.
But GM has been running the CP series high pressure...
If somebody stole my Toy Hauler they would be doing me a favor. It is worth more in a insurance pay out then if I sold it. But then I could get a C4000

When I bought my Ford a equal Dodge with the 850 engine was cheaper. So I don't get your value statement.
The Ford turbo has two flaws. First is the shaft. It is weak. If you bark it enough times the shaft will fatigue and fail. The major issue is the ability or I mean the lack of ability...
Because RVers and Hotshot people are in the market for two different trucks.
RVers want pretty. RVers with no practical back ground of towing are much easier to convince on what they want. They don't care about the long term cost and reliability. As in general most RVers will trade their...
Obviously you are a Ford guy.
But you are considerably wrong on most things about the Cummins. The 6.7 Cummins is designed to run at high load for days on end. Which is why you find the same 6.7 cummins in farm equipment that do just that and M2 Frieghtliner trucks.
There is very little...
Landing gear (hydraulic) switch broke
If you want to get creative buy a switch from these guys, OTRATTW.com. (Over the river and through the woods). They have tons of customized switches to choose from. You just need a Momentary DPDT switch to the landing.

That's totally different. Residential fridge needs the compressor and a cooling fan to run enable to cool. Which is a huge power draw. The RV fridge you and I have only needs 12vdc to power a circuit board while running on LP. Very little power draw with that.

Gateway has a 5slide with a bunk house bed room fir the kids. Along with a 1/2 bath in there as well. This is a large and roomy 5th wheel. But that is my suggestion for a family to full time in.
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
You can if you have enough batteries to provide the amperage load needed to continuously operate it. One or two batteries will be drained pretty quickly running a residential fridge.

I would like to see HL build a purpose built 5th wheel for pulling doubles. A Gateway or BH comfort trailer, 30 to 35ft capable of a 5000lb load/trailer hitched to it.
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
You might want to confirm that with DPS. Even with two receiver hitches you are still trailering that platform. It is not a permanent fixture and it has it's own wheels.

The beauty that I find with the e cig is I can wing myself from Nicotine while still using the e cig. Something I could not do with a regular cig. The juice I use is made by Vapor Essence. Which there is only 4 ingredients that make up the fluid cocktail. My understanding only the nicotine...
How many people here have switched from the traditional cigarette to a Vapor E-Cig?
I have tried several gas station E Cigs and what a poor alternative. Thought really the Vapor solution wasn't going to work.
Last weekend my buddy sent me to Vapor Essence in Pearland. Now I am a firm...
The tire supplier is going to help you or Tredit. Good luck with wasting your time with them
HL paid for the damage on my trailer but it wasn't easy getting there. I had to **** a lot of people off to get help. Between a few forums and their FB page of constant rants. Having to deal with the...
Re: Ford vs. Dodge . . .
The 68RFE is basically the same as well.
Funny thing is. As good as the Alison is it is a horrible design for a Cummins engine. The Durmax power band starts much higher in the rpms then a Cummins. So the Alison doesn't begin the build enough hydraulic line pressure...
My wife has the P238. Had issues with it not loading correctly. Sig sent us a new slide spring and solved the issues. But is a great pistol. I love the hydrogen night sights as well.

I run Carlisles on my utility trailer. They have treated me well but that trailer never gets loaded near it's max rating either.

Re: New tow rig:update
That is fantastic. The Egr Cooler issue has plagued Ford since the 6.0's came out. That is also what gave the 6.0's a bad name.
But if you are going to keep the pickup I would consider a EGR delete for pickup. Never worry about that issue again and get a increase in...
The 6.4 in that 450 is a great engine. But almost every 6.4 engine failure I have seen have been in the 450's. Only thing I can figure is that they don't like turning the higher rpms from the super low gearing in the Diff's.
Though if the EGR is the cause. Just delete it and roll on...
No and yes. More so then stock lugs as they do sit inside the hole of the rim. But the rims are a true hub piloted rim.

New tires and wheels are on. Eagle Alloy 059 20" and Mastercraft MT 35-12.5. Surprising quite tires, slightly loader then factory tires.
I can't remember but tires are rated for 3500lbs, I need to confirm. But this setup will not hinder my towing capabilities.

Depends what size 17.5 tire you buy. They are not all the same. I believe my 17.5 are about 0.5" smaller in diameter then the towmax tires

Let me rephrase that. I am free from having a blowout due to a subpar tire.
Though these tires give me more confidence from road hazard due to their construction. They are thick.
The Titanic was actually the Olympic and purposely sunk.

And if you jump on those forums you will see tons of failures as well. Personally I think all ST are junk regardless of the brand. Just that Towmax are not worthy of their advertised rating.
I have since switched to a 17.5 H rated tire. My problems with tires have been solved.

It's funny how people have blow outs with a Towmax. Then change to a LT type tire and suddenly they don't have anymore blowouts.
Then the tire experts are telling us that Towmax fail due to misuse and road hazards.
Yet people running anything other then a ST are no longer having issues...
It's simple. If you are running ST on something that means you are towing using a pickup. The pickup is going to be running LT. I believe it is a safe assessment that how you treat your pickup tires you will apply the same care to your trailer tires. On average people will put about 5% to...
I would think the exhaust would be completely cooled off long before it reaches the trailer tires. Not only that but completely dissipated before reaching them. You may have more weight on those wheels.
