While that you are up there - when I checked mine I found that the riser was cut too short and allowed the sewer gas to be pulled back down the outside of the riser. Just thought you would like to check yours out if you are getting sewer smell in your unit
I am the original owner - ordered/purchased it December 2012 from RV's For Less in Knoxville, TN. Its our second Bighorn having RV's For Less ordering it for us. I'll trty to take some pics tomorrow if its not raining again.
I have noticed that the driver side of my unit that faces west, the fiberglass appears to be separating from the material behind it. During the day the side that is exposed to the sun, the fiberglass begins to bubble similar to delamination that is caused by water damage. But once the sun goes...
Did you remove the sheet metal baffle that covers up half the access grill vents when you added these two fans? I measured the space and only half of the fan would draw air from the bottom. The sheet metal baffle would cover up half of the fan. I like the idea but the 200mm fan seems to big big.
Also consider putting cut-off valve on your toilet line - as our valve on the toilet failed (water keep filling bowel) and you have to turn off ALL water to the unit. Until you receive a new part to repair toilet you can use pitcher of water to flush toilet and still have water in the unit . . .
We are leaving from St. Augustine end of March - here is our route may not be a starlight shot but interesting places to stay, see & do . . .
Falling Waters SP CG - Chipley, FL (289m)
Meaher State Park - Spanish Fort, AL (156m)
Vicksburg National Military Park - Vicksburg, MS...
Thanks for all the suggestions - I think I am going to order a water bladder and a 12vdc marine pump as suggested - I've read where others have used this idea.
Thanks again!
When boon-docking is there a way with the Anderson Valve to use the water pump to fill the fresh water tank from a non-pressurized source such as a 5-gallon water container. We plan on dry camping in the near future and need a way to refill the fresh water tank while we are stationary for an...
I ordered & installed one last week in the living area. Haven't traveled and setup the unit as of yet - but unit seems to be much quieter setting in the driveway. Guess time will tell if it truly is quieter . . .
It can be disassembled pretty easy - we had to replace all of our furniture in our 2013 3010RE as the vinyl started deteriorating - flaking off and making a mess. We replaced our Recliners with 'theater seating' and couch from RecPro.
My 2013 Bighorn is doing the same thing - when the sun hits the bedroom slide there several bubbles - but when evening comes and the slide cools down the fiberglass is flat as a pancake. I can not find where there is any water intrusion on mine? My bedroom slide faces the west - so I clip a...
We just replaced our "peeling" furniture in our 2013 3010RE with the RecPro Charles 67" Double RV Wall Hugger Recliner Sofa w/ Console and RecPro Charles 65" RV Sleeper Sofa w/ Hide A Bed. It took longer to remove the "old peeling" couch and two "old peeling" recliner rockers then to install the...
It appears that I have the same situation - Here I Florida slide-out facing the sun in 90 degree heat it bubbles out. But early in the morning it's as flat as a pancake. Any suggestions from this forum? I can't tell where water is coming in - checks all the chalking all seems intact.
My 2013 3010RE came with CLEAR tri-shower-doors, has anyone replaced theirs with the Waterfall tri-shower-doors (Part# 0157700) that Heartland now uses? And how difficult was this project and did the dorrs come with all the hardware associated with them?
Right or Wrong - I fished the the wire from the fan through the drain hose out to the back of the Refrig for a 12VDC connection. Have had this configuration for over a year now and have not experienced any problems with the wire restricting the flow of the drain tube. Hope this helps . . .
Having never been to/through New York we are planning a May trip to Wildwood State Park on Long Island. For those you who have experienced pulling a 35' Fifth Wheel in/through New York - Is there a preferred route to the Wildwood SP on Long Island coming in on I-80 from Pennsylvania? Not sure of...
Re: ATF: Bighorn - Design purpose of sheet metal covering 2/3 of the side top vent of the refrigerator on the 3010R
Dan I contacted Norcold to see if the 1210 had a "a heater that come on periodically to clear moisture around the inside fins" - here is their response:
This model (Norcold 1210)...
Re: ATF: Bighorn - Design purpose of sheet metal covering 2/3 of the side top vent of the refrigerator on the 3010R
Thanks for the quick response Dan and for furnishing the diagram that I will provide to our mobile RV repairman. The measurements for "Opening between condenser fins and baffle 0...
We have had a cooling issue with our Norcold 120 refrigerator in our 2013 Bighorn 3010RE this summer and are currently working with our mobile RV repairman & Norcold to solve this cooling issue. Norcold is saying that this could be a design flaw with the airflow behind the refrigerator in our...
We have been having problems/issues with our 2013 Norcold Model 1210 Refrigerator for the past few months as others have had on this forum. While our mobile RV repair service (Cry Wolfe, Inc.) has been working several weeks with the Norcold to correct this, we placed a digital thermometer in the...
Has anyone installed one of these fans on their Norcold 1210 double door fridge? And if so were you able to piggy-back off of the plug for the thermistor/light ???
Are they going to replace the unit or pull it out and replace the cooling unit on the back? We are experincing issues with our Norcold 1210 and are in the process of working through these issue to have it corrected.
Thanks for sharing mikeandconnie - Did they replace the entire unit or did they pull the unit out and just replace the evaporator system? My RV Repairman said that they (Norcold) would probably authorize the replacement of that system and not the entire unit.
As an update the mobile RV Repairman (authorized Norcold Warrantyperson) came out and provided the bad news this morning - “it appears that thereis a blockage in the evaporator system” and his suggestion is to turn off the unitand leave it off until we get to our first overnight stop heading to...
The Norcold 1210 Refrig in our 2013 Bighorn 3010RE has been acting up for several months. We have it running on shore power and it will run & cool perfectly for several weeks and then stop cooling and the TEMP SETTING will start flashing. I have tried what others have been doing by turning the...
We aren’t fulltime but we do boondock occasionally. We have a 5 cubic foot chest freezer that fits in the space were the washer/dryer would go. We’ve had this setup since 2007 were I have a 1750w inverter wired with dual batteries with an extension cord from the inverter to the freezer inside...
I realize that there is an alternate method to power the hydraulics associated with the front landing legs and slides, but is there an alternate way to open/close the bedroom slide on the 3010RE that is electric?
We recently traded our 2008 3055 Bighorn on a 2013 3010RE Bighorn with the larger shower enclosure. We have noticed a strange odor from the shower enclosure and are curious if any other 3010RE owners have noticed this? We feel curtain that it is not coming from the drain but from the fiberglass...
