    2008 Cyclone 4012 Wheel/Tire upgrade

We want to upgrade our 15 inch wheels/tires to 16 inch wheels/tires. The 15 inch Load Range "D" Goodyear Marathons are not holding up for us. As a result, we would like to upgrade the wheels and tires to a 16 inch set with a higher load range. What are the specifications regarding wheel/tire...

Nightmare trip thanks to goodyear marathons

Let us know how it goes with the MAXIS. We are in need of new tires as well. Two of my goodyear marathons are starting to separate/bulge after 10k miles. Fortunately, we're not going anywhere until it cools off (102 today).

Yellowstone National Park via Livingston MT

We also stayed at the same RV park this past June on our way to the Black Hills. It was very accommodating and clean. There was plenty of room for our 41 footer and what a view of the snow covered mountains in the morning! :)

    I bought it here...

I bought it here: http://www2.northerntool.com/fuel-transfer-lubrication/auxiliary-fuel-tanks/item-3490014.htm As you can see from the picture, the top/driver side is notched so that the 5th wheel hitch arm will not hit the tank (this is a short bed issue only). The downside is that you have...

So far so good. Back in June, we went on a 6500 mile trip from Texas to Washington state and back... Up and down mountains, high altitudes, high temps, cold temps, etc. We had a blast! The truck pulled great. The Firestone airbags were a plus along with the RDS auxiliary fuel tank. The...

    Shurflo Extreme Series Pump Strainer

Our Cyclone came with the wrong water pump inlet strainer. According to Shurflo, the series 254 High Flow strainer should be used. We have the series 255. I was wondering if this was as designed or just an install error? Since my unit is out of warranty, can I still return the old strainer...

    propane regulator leak

yep...had a leak this past weekend in Mena, Arkansas. I went to the local Walmart and bought a new regulator. I will send the old one back to get a warranty reimbursement. Among other things, our shureflo water pump also quit working along with the clarion DVD player. Some of the trim is...

    Check your spare tire.

Slide the plastic storage bin completely out and set it aside (the one next to rear entry steps). Reach under and grab the spare tire rail assembly and slide it toward you. There is tool that came with your unit that has a hook that you can grab onto the rail with but I just grab it with my...

    Truck to tow Cyclone 4012

We just got back from a three week 4800 mile trip with our configuration. All went well. Two things we had that made it successful. Firestone Airbags and an RDS auxiliary fuel tank. We averaged a little over 9 miles/gallon. Fuel prices ranged from 4.39 - 4.78 per gallon. Our trip points...

    Satellite Cable Labeling incorrect

Just an F.Y.I. The outside connections for Satellite and Cable television is incorrect on our Cyclone unit. Looking at the connections from left to right: INCORRECT: PHONE - SATELLITE - SATELLITE - CABLE CORRECT: PHONE - CABLE - SATELLITE - SATELLITE I guess I could open the access panel...

    Check your spare tire.

Coming down out of Mesa Verde, CO. our spare tire just dropped out and fell to the ground. Fortunately, my wife noticed it as we were cornering on a switch back. Not sure why?? We just picked it up and put in the back of the truck and continued on to Moab.

Excessive Noise and jerking with 5th Wheel Hitch

We experienced the same issue with our unit. Jerking and banging while applying the brakes. What I found out; was that our truck down shifts very hard while applying the brakes (only in tow-haul mode). This surge motion causes the brake controller to apply the brakes on the trailer, I think...

    Hot Water Heater Leak

Just for the record, we discovered the same leak (under the kitchen sink/hot water heater area), as described in the first post, this weekend. Carpet was soaked. Also, our dual propane valve would not switch to the door side tank for some reason. Had to move the full tank to the other side so...

    New Dodge

Not yet... Kind of afraid to..:o If I had to guess, it would be a little over 16k. Maybe, pushing 17k. If the above is true. I'm slightly over the truck's specs. When loaded, the trunk only sags about 4 inches. I believe that having the toys in the back lowers the pin weight a bit. When...

    New Dodge

Loaded up all the toys and went to Lake Murray Oklahoma this past weekend. All I can say is...:DIT WAS AWESOME!!!!:D The Truck pulled the trailer smoother than I expected. I was even bucking about a 10~15 mph north wind. The truck had no problems at all. Plenty of power to spare. We had...

    New Dodge

The trailer is long and and it's heavy. But I'm getting used to it. I think it will be slightly over the limit as far a weight is concerned when it's fully loaded. I have not had the opportunity yet to load it down with all our toys. I do know that with a full water tank (110...

    New Dodge

Be carefull going through Colorado!! From what I hear on other forums, there still seems to be Low Sulfer Diesel (LSD) being sold there. The LSD is causing some issues with the diesel particulate filter resulting in check engine light. Just make sure the pump is labled as Ultra Low Sulpher...

    Tow Haul Mode Downshifting Hard

trdeal, I'll try that and see if there is any improvement. This morning while going to work and with no trailer, I decided to run Tow Haul Mode. You can sure feel the downshifting when slowing down. Kind'a scary on wet pavement.

    Tow Haul Mode Downshifting Hard

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll have to re-learn how to slow down without using the brakes. My truck has the factory jake brake. I never tried using it while in tow haul mode.

    Tow Haul Mode Downshifting Hard

Has anyone noticed when in Tow Haul mode, if you slow down by applying the brake, it causes a hard downshift to occur? This causes the brake controller to apply the trailer brakes too much (suddenly) resulting in jolt or tug. Do other trucks that have the tow haul mode feature (i.e...

    Inverter, will it work?

At 120Vac, the inverter must be able to supply 1260W to run the compressor. However, as in the previous post, the startup current will be about 20amps. Therefore, you will need an inverter that can handle about 2400W initially or until the compressor is up and running. Voltage times current =...
