    Leak in doorside slide

We have a '06 BH3500RL. While visiting here in Ramona, CA, as everyone knows we had 3 days and nights of steady rain. The carpet where the table sits was very wet. It appears to be the wettest in the forward, outside corner. Can see no apparent place where the water came in, either inside or...

Lewis & Clark State Park, ND

We are spending a couple days here at Lewis and Clark State Park 19 miles east of Williston, ND. It is a beautiful park. Lake Sakakawea (formerly Garrison Reservoir) is full and they have great boating and fishing. They have some spots that are reservation only and some first come first...

    Just Curious

We are at Pilot Knob just west of Yuma. In our outings around Yuma we have seen several Heartland products. However, on the HOP page ours is the only entry. Why doesn't everyone put there little marker on the map. We met Mel's Musty Music. There is another Bighorn in the park and also a...

We met a cyclone on US69 about 20 miles north of Greenville, TX today. We were riding the motorcycle. Anyone from the forum? There was a Bighorn 3400 here at the Red River Ranch RV Resort in Thackerville, OK 2 days ago. Spoke with them and they knew about the forum. They were Dennis and...

Towing motorcycle or boat behind 5fer

Wondering if anyone has had experience towing tandem (ie: motorcycle or boat trailer) behind your 5th wheel in Alabama or Florida. The laws don't appear to allow it, however, have heard stories of people getting away with it.

    Pin Weight

What effect would adding 600 pounds to the rear of the trailer have on the pin weight?

    New to us

We sold our '97 Dodge RAM2500 4x4 last week. Over the weekend we found a 2005 Dodge 3500 in Tulsa. On 8/6/07 we drove to Tulsa to just look at it. Well guess what we came home with it. It is a 3500 DRW 4x2 with running boards, automatic, HO diesel with only 19547 miles on it. It is the Dark...

    Missing Hardware

Upon disassembly to pack wheel bearings for the first time on our 2006 BH3500RL, I found that (4) of the (5) bolts which secure the backing plate (upon which the brake components are mounted) were missing on the front r/h wheel. (2) of the (4) nuts fell out when drum was removed. What happened...

    Pantry pull out shelves

Scott I spoke with you at the rally about the pantry pull out shelves. We have a 3 shelf unit and would like to get a 2 shelf unit for a couple other cupboards in our Bighorn 3500RL. I would appreciate the name of your supplier to see if we could get one. Thanks Steve and Sharon :)

    water leak

Our question for the factory is: We apparently have a leak in the couch/table slide of our 2006 3500 RL Bighorn. After a very heavy rain last night, early this AM (3:30 AM on 5/9/06). We lost power at the house and to make coffee I went to the trailer at 6:30 AM. Since it rained so hard in a...

    draining fresh water tank

After positioning the 2 valves for draining fresh water tank, I need to use the pump to get water to discharge from drain line. Is this normal? I would think that tank would drain by gravity. Is there a valve underneath the tank?

    Draining Water Heater

How does one drain the water heater. In the Heartland Manual it tells you one thing, either open the water heater drain valve or remove the plug. There doesn't appear to be a drain valve and the plug is installed with some kind of white compound and will not come out with extra-ordinary force...

    Water heater temp

We have a 2006 3500RL that we just took on our first trip. The major problem we found was that the water was not hot. We tried both the electric and propane and best we could determine was that the water didn't even get to 100 degrees. Since the water is such low temperature you can't dilute...

    Furnace

We have a 2006 Bighorn 3500 RL. The VIN of our unit is 1H96F352X6E459632. Why does the green LED on the receiver blink at approximately 1 second intervals when furnace is turned on via the remote comfort control? The furnace appears to operate normally. We didn't receive the...
