5th Airborne vs. Moryde (A Review)

If you take off the cover, there will be a nameplate with the model number attached to the pin box. We also put on a 5th airborne over the winter. Took a trip to Pinks all Out in Maple Grove couple weeks ago and what a difference. The pain in the neck was gone. One thing I did notice is...

    tv antenna boost?

I have a Razor but they are similar. The boost button on mine is in the bedroom. Push the button and the red light will come on. Make sure you are hooked up to the 'antennae" output at the wall plate.

    Replacement water pump

Have you replaced your water pump? Any opinions  on the best replacement brand or type? Read the reviews in Camping World and they at both ends of the spectrum for the same product! One person loves it and one hates it.

They are not 3 way switches. Turn it on inside and it stays on until you turn it off inside. Same with at the docking station.

    snow load

I had layers of snow and ice on my roof about 16" deep. I cleaned it off yesterday before the current storm started. The vent covers become very brittle when cold. I cracked the edge on one, but not enough to leak. Took me about 4 hours. We have about 12" of new snow as of now that started out...

    Replacement Tires

Also have the Michelin LTX M/S. Improved the ride and handling under all conditions. Better fuel milage and less noise with the less aggressive tread. Still good traction in the snow with the sidebars.

    How many gallons?

The tank on my Razor is a 30 gallon tank. The tank on my Razor (3612) is a 30 gallon tank. I think this is pretty typical of the full size toyhaulers.

    Slide leaking 3612 Razor

I am having a problem with the front slide leaking while it is closed. From all appearances, it is tight against the body when closed. the gaskets all appear to be in good condition - no tears, etc. There is no sign of moisture at the top or sides. I noticed the problem last week when I opened...

    Battery quick disconnect

I put in an A / B / OFF / ALL battery switch purchased at a boating supply. I can shut everything off, or isolate one battery bank so I will always have juice to start the genset. Cost is about $50.00.

We took the week off, so are headed up to PA tomorrow to the Allentown KOA to visit our daughter and family. From there, it is just a short hop to the rally. This is our first rally and we are really looking forward to meeting everyone! We will be there Wednesday. Anyone else gets there early...

    Quality Question

In a less than one year old camper, you should have the dealer make any necessary repairs. I've had some issues, but they were all taken care of by the dealer and Heartland working together. Some wrong parts were shipped for repairs and I had to take the camper back a second time, but I always...

    Stalling slides during retaction

I had the same issue. My dealer installed a 70A thermal breaker and it took care of the problem. Unit was still under warrenty. Installing another 50A breaker in line will not help.

    50 AMP Shore power

Residential service supplies 2 X 120V legs and a ground. A ground rod is driven into the ground and attached to the frame of the box for a frame ground. Each leg to ground is 120V. You get 240V by going across the 2 seperate 120V legs. No ground is needed for 240V. A frame ground is used for...

    Taller tires

A taller tire will make the drive train work harder when you put a load on the vehicle. It will also make your speedo and odometer wrong, unless the computer wes reprogrammed to compensate.

Made reservations today, arriving on the 12th so we can see some of the local sights before the official start of the rally. Please let me know of anything we can do or bring. Two awnings on a 3612

The awning is 14' from center to center of the supports. The cloth is about 8" shorter. There does not appear to be any modification of the rail, but it is hard to see. Where it is parked now, I can't open the awning. Hope this helps. Makes it a lot easier coming in and out in the rain! I just...

    Quality Control whining ?

I'm a happy camper! Few problems have been addressed by Heartland and the dealer to my satisfaction. I have 2009 Razor 3612TS. I've had 5 other campers, starting small, and found most to be reasonably put together. I do think the dealer cam make a world of difference in the process. Bringing up...

    Generator power distribution switch

Transfer switch is more of a saftey item than a necessity. I have a 2009 3612 Razor and there is no transfer switch per the dealer. They told me that if I accidentally turned on the genset while plugged in to shorepower, it would be a mess. The genset is wired directly to the 110V system...

    Adding another battery

How concerned are you about weight? How long do you want to go before plugging in or running the genset? Golf cart batteries will give you the best bang for the buck, but are very heavy. You would need 4 6V batteries. I had this set-up on my boat and could go 4 days without running the genset...

Under frame pull out storage bins

I did E-Mail the dealer, but haven't had a response. I guess what I am looking for from the factory is an indication that the bins are something that should have been installed on my unit, and were overlooked. I know that specs change constantly, but this is an item that was in the brochure and...

Under frame pull out storage bins

The under frame storage bins were not installed on my unit when I took delivery. Winterizing 3612

Number 6 is where you lost me. Where is the lower storage compartment you are talking about? I did by pass the water heater. Had to call my long armed brother to turn the lower valve! I have been winterizing campers for 30 years and the bypass valve is new to me.
