Feedback to Heartland on 21FBS bed

After taking two weekend trips in our recently-delivered 2011 21FBS, I wanted to provide the following feedback to Heartland: We ordered the upgraded pillow top mattress, hoping it would be a worthwhile upgrade from a standard RV mattress. Unfortunately, we did not find this option to be...

my 21FBS gray tank drains slow (do they all do this?)

Hi folks! We are the proud owners of a new 2011 North Trail 21FBS. We had our first camping trip in it this weekend. For the most part, everything went great. At the end of the trip, I did notice one thing at the dump station. On our 2008 Rockwood 2605, pulling the gray tank's valve handle...

    noisy water pump

Boy, you guys aren't kidding. We just had our first camping trip in our 2011 21FBS, and that water pump is brutal. Think you're going to sneak off to the bathroom in the middle of the night and manage a quick flush without waking the rest of the campground? Nice try, bucko. I'll look...

    Chris and Tricia's 21FBS

Hi everyone Here is a link to photos of our new 2011 North Trail 21FBS: http://www.chrispitude.net/index.php?album=cars%2FNorth_Trail_21FBS&dispsize=512&start=0 Most of the photos have comments. We love the "camel" interior. It delayed our order due to the materials not being ready at the...

Strange 7-way junction box location on 2011 21FBS

Hi everyone, I went to pick up my North Trail 21FBS at the dealer today. I intended to install my Propride hitch (similar to a Hensley Arrow) in the dealer parking lot, and tow the unit home. However, I ran into some clearance conflicts with the hitch install, so I towed the unit home on the...

    NT Options

My local RV salesguy spoke to his sales rep at Heartland about upgrading my unit on order to 15" wheels. The answer was "no, we can't do that because the larger tires would interfere with the wheel spacing" which makes no sense to either myself or my local RV salesguy. I am taking that as a...

    NT Options

Actually, I think Heartland may have made the right call on the Nev-r-lube hubs. I did some Googling, and although these never need lubricated, they still have a finite lifespan and eventually need to be replaced. Because the bearing is not serviceable, you don't really know when it's reaching...

    2011 21fbs changes

I just stopped by our dealer to see a fresh 2011 21FBS on their lot. The changes for 2011 are really nice! The solid surface counter top adds a great upscale feel to the interior. I'd love to see Heartland sell a flip-up counter top extension option (or add-on kit) for the 21FBS.

Those are great guys, but this thread was started in this forum area because conventional chocks don't work on the wide-axle spacing of the North Trail. :)

water filter options on the 21FBS?

Our 2008 Rockwood 2605 came with a whole-house water filter installed right at the water pump, complete with a charcoal filter. This was great because no matter how nasty the water was at the state park, the water tasted great in the trailer (cooking in kitchen, brushing teeth in bathroom...

A new wide-axle wheel chock is coming to town...

Hi folks, BAL has a new X-chock on the way for wide-axle trailers: BAL X-tended Fit X-Chock This is a great approach because it does not require ground contact. One can be used on each side, even if one side is up on leveling blocks. - Chris

2010 Half time convection oven vs 2011 gas oven on North Trail

Maybe I should. Can anyone else confirm that if there's no 110V power, then the Halftime does not function even as a normal oven? If we have no propane oven functionality to cook with when we're boondocking, then my wife won't have it. - Chris

Interesting! I wonder if I didn't haggle as well as I thought with my local dealer? They came in at about $1500 over the RVW quote (but I can dismiss some of that for not having to travel to Ohio). I'm almost afraid to ask what you got yours for - it might just make me sad. :( Doug, we...

Do all North Trails have an exterior propane quick-connect?

I spoke to Chris in Heartland North Trail customer service today. He told me that not all North Trails come with the coupler, but I could talk to my salesperson and have one requested for my unit if it's not already through production. Here's hoping I caught it in time! - Chris

The original poster is looking for a chocking solution for the Wide-Trax axles. My 21FBS is on order, so I don't have it yet. 2011 21FBS Bike Rack

This is a shame. We just ordered a 2011 21FBS today. My wife and I were hoping that we could fit our two mountain bikes on the rack. Given that this is mostly sold as a couple's trailer, I was expecting two bikes would be no problem. - Chris
