HI Larry. I don't know if you remember Brent& I from Oregon a couple of years ago, but we remember having a great time at dinner with you and Debbie. i haven't been on the forum lately - too busy with kids and life - but just logged on tonight and have been reading about your journey through...
This is great news, as of April 1. There used to be an extra charge for over height vehicles (higher than 6.5 ft I think) which made a heck of a difference. We might be able to afford to come and see you!
I can see the biggest deterent (sp?) for most in coming to your campground will be the ferry costs. We have figured out it would cost us close to $400 each way from Vancouver. So, one day, we will do a trip to the Island, and we will stay long enough to see everything and then we would be hard...
we tow with a 1996 F350 dually with airbags. If the right deal comes along, we will get a newer truck but for now, we take it slow and easy. Next upgrade to the truck will be exhaust brakes which would give us a little more peace of mind.
The Oregon Rally is great - you should try to get there if you can. The dates aren't working for us this year, so we can't go. Love those sand dunes!!!!
Good posts by both Larry's and lots of other good comments as well. We have been lucky (knock on wood) that the Cyclone as had very few factory issues so far. Are there things we wish the factory had done differently? Of course. But there are things we wish our house builder had done...
we have a perpetually low tire on the Cyclone (it's on the honey do list). We stopped at 3 different service stations and a car dealer before going to Les Schwab. They had no problem and a huge bay to pull the rig through. I.m not sure if our portable compressor that takes up space in the...
We also bought our rig far from home as the price couldn't be beat. Only had a couple of warranty items and Heartland Customer Service found a repair shop near us to do the work. Very easy to work with. The Heartland dealers in British Columbia also won't do warranty work if you didn't buy...
JOhn & Sue, good luck in your next adventure. I'm so glad you made it to the BC Rally and we were lucky enough to meet you. Your calm, rational viewpoints were always inspiring on the forum. we will miss you.
The first weekend with our 3210, I blew about 4 fuses trying to level the trailer (good thing I had read the forum and had a handful of them). Then I realized I had the back jacks down, so not only was the motor trying to lift the trailer, but was also pushing against the rear jacks. OOPS!
We did exactly the same in our 3210. It works great and one vent is definitely enough - it gets so toasty in there we have to block the hole! We used the same port covers that are in the UDC. One fully blocks the hole and the other has 2 1 inch holes to regulate the heat a bit.
We have...
I am very jealous. We were supposed to go to a wedding in Grand Rapids and had hooked up with Jim B for a tour, then we decided not to go to the wedding. the biggest disappointment was missing the tour!!! We will get there one day!
We learned our lesson as well for our 12 day trip from Vancouver to Anaheim and back. Next trip (to Central British Columbia) was travel every other day so we could at least see the place we were stopped in.
British Columbia is a beautiful place so make time to see it. I don't know that...
Glad to hear everything went well with you. We have also been very happy with our Cyclone and a year later, have had very few problems. KNOCK ON WOOD!!!
Not sure if we can get there that weekend but will see what we can do. If you haven't been, Winchester Bay is beautiful and those sand dunes are a blast!
Our '96 F350 is in the shop right now to determine the starter problem. If we plug it in overnight (which is a little ridiculous in Vancouver, BC), there is no problem. But once summer is over, it chugs and chugs but won't start. New batteries didn't help. I will update when DH picks the...
either weekend looks OK so far. The later one we could make work with our July 1 holiday perhaps. We'd love to go back to Winchester Bay but aren't really picky.
