It is not necessary to go west to Utah. If you take Hwy 62 west off of Hwy 550 to Hwy 145 and go south the drive is much easier. You will end up in Cortez and will have to backtrack to Durago. This route is just a pretty as Red Mountain pass (IMO), and is a much easier drive.
Having said that...

Actually it is a daily charge. You can come and go as many times as you like during that day. The cost is $7.00 per day. The yearly pass is $70.00 so if you will be in Colorado State Parks more then 10 days the yearly pass is the way to go. It is good for a year so if you buy it...
After 14 months with our Elkridge, we decided a month ago that it was time to move on. We have purchased another SOB fifth-wheel.
I have learned a great deal from this forum and the members here. Heartland has done a good thing in hosting the forum.
I wish you all well!
Very possibly could be a bad coaxial connection. Many on the forum have reported that issue. I'd start by taking the face plates off and looking at the terminations. I had to go through the entire coach and replaced virtually all of the connectors.
Bob&Patty,
Obviously you have a great deal of experience with RV's. So do I. This is our fifth RV. I like you understand that these things require regular maintenance as do most things. I think if you saw my rig you would agree it is well maintained. My reason for going to another brand are...
Bob&Patty,
You read parttimerver post differently than I did. He/She said that they would own another Heartland product again because of "all of the problems" he/she has had, not because he/she has a leaky roof.
I also have had many problems with our Elkridge. After 14 months of owning it I...
This isn't the first time someone has noticed this issue.

Yup, everybody should check their springs.
I put a 51 gallon Titan replacement tank on my truck. I have a short bed so didn't want to take up the room an in bed tank would use.
51 gallons in painful enough at the pump for me!
Many of us have had issues with the coaxial connections. Pull the connectors off the wall and see if the connections look good. You may find that some need to be re-terminated.
I know this is like beating a dead horse, but just couldn't help myself.
After 13.5 months and about 4,000 miles, all on pavement I discovered a broken spring on our Elkridge 34QSRL. Lippert "graciously" agreed to replace the spring, but the repair bill was on me. Unfortunately the nearest...
Earlier this spring "someone" hooked my battery up backwards. Seems that the converter manufacturer is smart enough to install "reverse battery" fuses. I had the same symtoms you are having. The lights were getting real dim as the battery was not being charged. As soon as I replaced the...
Installed the SteadyFast system last weekend. We haven't been out yet, but they sure seem to make quite a difference. The installation took about three hours. We ran into an issue with the routing of the gas pipe that we had to deal with, but thanks to a heads up from TravelTiger were prepared...
No doubt the Weber Q is a great grill. We had one, but sold it last winter. We loved the grill, but didn't like the weight. We had the 200 which is the bigger one, but found the 100 a bit heavy also. Attached to the weber table it was just a bit much.
Can't believe they didn't tell you how to operate the awning during the walk through.
Heed the advice on the video to take it down when any wind comes up and don't leave it up when you are gone or at night. We returned to a campsite last summer just in time to see the wind blow the neighbors...
That's interesting Roger. I had to do the same thing on our first outing of the year. Pulled it out of the wall and replaced the 15 Amp fuse. Good thing the friendly camper across the street had an extra. Borrowed it and then ran into town and bought a few. Gave his back and I have some spares.
Re: Maintaining rv finish Heartland factory opinion please
Ok I'm convinced and would like to give Rejex a try. How much of this product will I need for my 37' Elkridge?
I was told when I purchased my Fantastic Fan that the original MaxAir restricted the fan from opening all of the way causing the motor to burn out. Also I understand that the MaxAir II allows more air flow needed by the fan on higher speeds.
Well if it is, I am a victim. I recently install the MaxAir II over a Fantastic Fan. The total price was less than the more expensive Fantastic Fan that has the rain sensor.
It made sense to me.

I don't know if all electric awning can do this, but mine can.
I am not sure I can explain how it works. Way easier to show someone rather than explain how is works. There is a knob you can loosen on either side. Then you kind of pull down on the bracket, then lock in place...
We have an electric awning on our 2011 Elkridge. I like others feel a little more comfortable with the manual awnings. I put it in if it is at all windy.
On our awning we can lower one side for rain drainage. Someone commented earlier that they missed this feature.
Can anyone tell me how to access the check valve on the black water flushing system? I believe I have a leak in it as I get some water running out of the bottom of the trailer when I flush the tank. I can't seem to figure out how to access this valve.
I am almost glad it took ten years to get him. I can imagine the last ten years for him know that some day a Navy Seal was going to come around the corner and put a bullet through his head. No matter how long you (and he) knew it was going to happen.
I think it good that he was dumped in the...
I reported this issue to Heartland almost a year ago. I offered to send pictures of the connectors, but no one seemed interested. This is totally unnecessary. While I don't really like the connectors Heartland uses, if properly terminated they would work just fine. I ended up going through and...
