Re: Heartland Service Center near Philadelphia, PA Area Recommendation
Try Tom Schaeffer's Rv in Shoemakersville. It's on rt. 61 above Reading. They are a landmark dealer, I had my Bighorn worked on several times and I'll take my current Big Country there if I ever need work done. We were very...
Glad to hear your family is ok and hopefully the others will make a full recovery. How long were they sitting there alone? That just doesn't make sense why a state trooper would do that.

7-5-2016 passed a BC heading south toward Harrisburg, Pa. and was being towed by a red Dodge. We were heading back to the campground and our BC.

We just picked up a slightly used 2014 Big Country 3251TS. Our Bighorn was 10 years old so it was time to look for something newer. (We will miss the old one.)

I just bought a new F350 and tried to put my old Pulrite hitch in it on the new rails and found out they are different. The newer hitches are 22" across the legs compared to 25" on the old ones. They called it industry standard, so I'm guessing everyone is the same now.

I finally decided the '06 F250 6.0 was nickel and diming me to death, so I bought myself an early Christmas present. A new 2015 F350 6.7 and I love it! Merry Christmas everyone!
I am a mechanic for a school bus company that services around 350 busses, and roughly 90 of them have that motor in them. They were all new in 2009, since we put them in service they all have the same problem with fuel in the oil. going back and forth with International they have tried a variety...
I have to second the vote for a Dachshund. We are on our second one and they are great little dogs (both are minis). They travel very well and are a big hit at all campgrounds. Puppy life will keep you very active as they are active all day long. Before them we had Dalmations, very obedient and...
Hey James, I have a dumb question but I just have to ask anyway. I bought one when they first came out, but I really like the key pad that's on them now. I was wondering if you have any kind of trade in program? You never know unless you ask.
Great write up and very detailed with pictures. I converted my 2006 F250 in 2008 and have not regretted it. You will come to realize that all trucks should at least have these as an option. I thought my headlights were bright until a friend of mine put them in his truck, once I saw the...
My DW always ask if I want her to drive, but I usually tell no, that's ok I'm fine. She is not intimidated by the size since she been driving a school bus for 30 years. It's just that I like to have control so if any thing would ever go wrong I wouldn't be able to blame her. I have let her drive...
Same story here, we spent a week in Memphis in 100 degree heat with only one a/c. The first thing I did when we got home was to install the second one.
Good luck with the new pup! Ours just takes charge now matter where she goes. When my wife came home with her I thought she was the coolest looking little thing. Her only bad habit is she chases the one cat just out of the blue.
I used Bio-Diesel 1 time and got such bad millage with it I'll never buy it again. Since my truck has a 6.0 that has been replaced once I would not recomend using it at all. FYI all the Sunoco stations in this area sell only Bio-Diesel, thier pumps are labled at 5%.
Re: keyless entry
I put the RV Lock on my Bighorn over a year ago. It works great but depending on how much you use it the batteries don't last the season.
We bought our Lazy Boy's last year and have never regretted it. Just like you we were just through with the Euro chairs. I don't rember which model the Mrs. picked out, but they fit with no problems. Enjoy your recliners and your vacation!
Had the same problem with ours. After talking, and sending pictures to Heartland they offered to fix both sides because there was another crack on the door side at the top near the awning. the only downside was they wanted to do the repairs at the factory. It was December, snowing, and over 600...
I have the same set up only my truck is a 2006, and have noticed the same mileage differance. It is the result of being in tow mode the transmission stays in one gear longer to keep the load on the engine moving along, keeping momentium so the engine won't lag when shifting into a higher gear...
I'm in the market for a new truck and found one I like but it's a short bed. It's a 2011 F-350 CC 4x4, and would be towing a BH. I've never owned a sb before and don't know if I would need a slider hitch or not. Anyone with a new Ford sb that can tell me what hitch they use would be a big help.
Our BH came with the Euro chairs, but after the first year we both agreeded that we miss the regular recliners. So the DW went to a local department store when they had a sale on Lazy Boys, and bought 2. Then we measured the sofa and found out it would fit across the back. The 2 new chairs sit...
Re: ATF: Big Country - 2nd A/C unit
Just had a Dometic Penguin 13,500 btu low profile installed in the bedroom of our BH it looks to be no higher than any thing else on the roof.
I've got the truck back and running just great but only time will tell. Have to take the BH to Camping World this weekend for some work so i"ll see how well it does towing.
The Ford rep showed up and verifed everything, so I have to wait for all the parts to come in. The service advisor told me it only take a couple of days for the parts to get here. I just hope I can trust it again, because if it breaks down on me again it'll be time to go truck shopping!
For starters I have a 2006 F-250 with a 6.0 and about 58,000 miles on it. Since I'm a diesel mechanic I'm very thorough with maintence since I know all the problems with this engine, but untill now no major problems with it. We were driving home from a great week of camping and thought the only...
I like the bucket idea, I'll have to give that a try. Untill then I have all my power cords 50,30, and a regular 25' 110 volt extension cord hanging from the hook in the front compartment
I have a 2006 3400RL and it has the same thing. The blue coil hose has a quick conect one one end and just a regular garden hose nozzle on the other. I use it mostly for cleaning the grill after dinner.
Don't know for sure but there are always a lot full of trucks in all of them staying overnight. When I was driving a tow truck I had to tow my boss's motorhome back from Virgina and I stoped in one and slept for 3 or 4 hours and never got chased. As long as you are parked in a lined spot I don't...
Not to get you worked up or anything, but I have to tell my story. I have the same year and floor plan as you and had the same problem as you. There were two cracks in the skin, one on each side. The first one was above the d.s. slide. It went from the top corner of the slide next to the door...
