Hose Question

I was in the basement checking to make sure things were OK and I noticed a Clear hose with one end connected to the Shur-Flo water pump and the other end to nothing?? This hose did have a check value on the end near the water pump. Is this normal? What is this hose? Should it be connected to something?

It's probably the hose that goes in the antifreeze jug to winterize the system after bypassing the water heater....Ken

Ditto KatKens' reply and if it's like mine, you'll have to get a longer length of hose in order to be able to insert it in an anti freeze jug!

The Service Tech taking me through my PDI was nice enough to change mine out.

That's a relief I thought it was something important, but since I'm at the stage in my life where I avoid cold temperatures I shouldn't need to use it.
