Carbon Monoxide Detector

I was staring up last night and noticed that I had center my carbon monoxide detector flush to the ceiling about 12 inches from the return air intake on the air conditioner.

The only thing I could find in the manual about the mounting location was not to mount it in a corner.

I did find this advise on the internet, but it's not an option in an 8' 6" wide trailer...
"A detector should not be placed within fifteen feet of heating or cooking appliances or in or near very humid areas such as bathrooms."

Could the return air flow to the AC interfere with the CO detector?

If it's been there since you bought the trailer, then I don't think it's a problem.

Sometimes I worry too much. Probably because I've set the CO detector in my bedroom off before.

Camped in tight quarters this weekend with neighbors running portable generators on both sides.
