FYI: I love my new AMP Resurch bedstep2
Used it today for the first time. With the DRW I put 1 foot on the new step and one foot on the tire and I can reach my hitch pin and the brakeaway cable to hook and unhook.
No more carrying the step stool. :)

I'll watch my zippers. I was actually thinking about getting a mechanics fender mat. But I don't want to have to store it and pull it out when needed.
I'll just be careful.

I redid my 7-way cord today. I still had my very first one and the other day when I was adding my backup lights I noticed that it was all out of wack from my current versions. My color coding was different then the sheet that I'm currently using and sending out with my boxes. So I decided to redo it right and add a few things while I'm at it.
I already had a switch for the lights, but I wanted to add another one for the new backup lights. The switches I've been using are a 3 way switch 1 off and 2 on. I used one for the backup lights and had 1 open side that needed something to do. LOL
So I connected the other side of the switch to my HYD brake circuit. Now I can manually apply my HYD disk brakes If I ever need to. Like for Backing under it to hook up on a hill or slope without putting any extra stress on the landing legs. Who knows if I'll ever need it !!! But it nice to know it's there if I ever do. (It is a lot easier then pulling the breakaway pin and having to put it back in again).
Maybe some day I'll use it to bleed my brakes.
Oh ya I added a little red light on the side so I can see when the backup light are on from up front by the Pinbox. That way they wont get left on by mistake.

You can hear the HYD brake pump if it's on.

This whole setup is amazing. I can't stop smiling when I'm rolling down the highway.
Life is good 😎

I did a redo project this morning.
I replaced my home made Ford bed plug box with the new aftermarket one made and powder coated by (Nichols Manufacturing & Welding services)
I like the look of it alot better then the one I made. Also with this one I can get to the tie-down hook again.
I had to do a little modification to the bed to make it work. Filling there instructions wouldn't work for me because doing it there way wouldn't match the marks of the Ford factory spray in bed linen.

That looks so much better. Gives it a factory look.

I swapped out the black light with the new white light. Ya light !!!! Apparently the new $139.00 Ridgid Industry light was only 1 light not 2.... LOL that's why it was cheeper then the others I found. I ordered another one last night and will have to wait for it to get here.
I put the white one in this morning and I think it looks alot better.

This new Ridgid light has a diffused lense so it will light up a larger area instead of shooting a farther distance which is not necessary for backing into our spot.
Can't wait to try them out.

I wanted to share these Little gems with you.
I first see and used these Posi-Tap connectors back when I installed the AMP RESURCH steps on my Jeep in 2013
I've been looking for them here and there ever sence then. Never found any.
I needed a good splice connector to tap my upfitter switch wire into my backup light wire at the back of my 7-way plug. This Posi-Tap connector is a nice clean way to do this without cutting the wire.
They are way better than the old scotch locks we've used in the past.
And they seem to be sealed up alot better too.
Those scotch locks seem to rust out and quit working after a year so.

Jerrod - your latest backup lighting and camera setups are fantastic! I noted your cringe-worthy moments when cutting into the shell of your rig to mount the lights, but as always - your work is nothing short of amazing. Congratulations🙃

Hey Ken Thanks
It is a bit nerve racking doing things that can't be undone.. Once you start cutting it, It's ALL IN !!!!

Because of my ordering mess up I still had 1 black light (Beam lens ) and 1 White light (Defused lens). So on our trip to Jackson last week I was able to try the 2 different lights out at night. The Black (beam) light shined back a long way, the white defused lens lit up the whole area behind the RV perfectly. And that was just 1 light... Now that I have both white lights with defused lens in there and the 2 side LED light strips backing into a spot at night will be a breeze. I just ordered 2 more of the LED light for the side I will be mounting them on the drop frame towards the front of the RV and wiring them into the backup lights. So with the flip of #4 up-fitter switch inside my new Ford the entire perimeter of the RV will be lit up. :)

Nice work jerrod. It sounds like these lights might be useful on the side of the coach as well where the sewer lines are possibly. They may also help light up the side when backing into the camp spot.
