Ok will do
They are adhesive but don't think it will hold very long under there. So I think I'll have to come up with a better plan

WOW 2 Mods in 1 day I'm on a roll.
I replaced the junction box for the 7-way light cord and added my new 15' coiled cord. I also kept the stock cord just in case I need to tow it with another vehicle that doesn't have the plug inside the bed. I will roll it up and Zip-tie it up into the hitch. Adding 7 more wires was a hand full !!! Luckily I used the 7-way junction box. Thanks Bones

After seeing this picture I'm pretty sure they will both reach the back of the truck LOL...

Your welcome. I like the clear plastic cover. I bought the one that is black. At first I was looking at your pictures and wondering why you have so many wires in there and then realized what you were doing. If I may offer a suggestion. Fill your unused pig tail connections with dielectric grease and cover the end. Hopefully this will keep water out of the connection end

Great work - love to see a no-flash night pic of what these look like in the dark.

Took these for Bones. iPhone doesn't do justice. Clear set on the doorside, multi colored curbside.

Ya Bones that was my plan to rap it up but the grease idea is a good one too. thanks
I might even just take it off all together once I hook it to the truck and confirm that the new cord will reach the bumper without any issues. If I ever need it to.
I also installed a lighted on-off switch in the side. Hard to see in the pic. It is wired in the box from the battery post to the tail/marker light post. I can turn on all of my marker and tail lights and dim them down. I'll post that when it's done. I'm waiting for another LED dimmer from Amazon to finish it.. It's not something I'll use all the time but just a little extra pop when the time is right.

Thanks Lyle. Did you achieve the effect you were going for?

I did. Gives us some ambient lighting when sitting outdoors in the evening without the glare from overhead.
Looks much better in person

I really like the coiled cord. It keeps everything nice and tidy. One of the things that i install in the box of my truck was a 7 pin connector on the rear post on the drivers side. This way it keeps the cord from waring on the top of the tail gate. Also, i added a 7 pin receptacle with a switch in the 5th wheel head on the trailer to allow a spot for trailer 7 pin to be plugged in when not connected to the truck and to turn on the trailer running lights

Jerrod,
Didn't we talk about the coiled pig tail a while back and the thought was that the pig tail coil is very tough and might pull the cord out of the socket for our trucks. I seem to remember that discussion somewhere.

Thanks
I do have the plug inside the bed already
And putting a plug with a swich on the trailer was my first idea, then I decided to put the switch in the junction box instead. I still working on a hanger. Right now I'm leaning towards a eampty plug to put it in.

Ya in my first picture you'll see 3 cords
#1) is a RV 7 way flat pin cord..
It's to short and to stiff
#2) is a 15' 7-way Round pin cord for trucks
#3) is a 15' heavy duty 7-way cord to big and stiff

I was going to use #3 when I found #2 it is perfect.
Of course I had to cut the end off and put the RV end on it

Up date on 7-way cord...
After realizing that the new cord was plenty long enough to reach the bumper if I ever needed to I decided to remove the stock cord and clean up the box a bit.
Then rumeging through my junk drawers I found a Mag flash light holder, the male 7-way plug pops right in like it was mad for it.
Done deal and came out just the way I wanted it to.

And the switch that turns on all of the marker and tail lights, the dimmer unit hasn't arrived yet.

Ya
It's direct power no relays, but being all LED I think it will handle it fine then once I put the dimmer remote unit in it will be eaven less amps draw. I'm wiring in the same dimmer unit that I used on the awning lights
